Simply unbelievable 
Didn't Renault F1 get their lawyer to talk through the subject matter with Pat Symonds to prepare him for the type of questions that were likely to be asked? It's absolutely necessary so that the witness doesn't make a complete hash of the cross-examination.

So with all this said, I wonder how this fair for Nelson Piquet.
Will ANY race team want to touch him again, knowing that if he leaves on sour terms he'll divulge all their dirty secrets and tricks?
I think he would have been far better to make some kind of anonymous notification to the FIA. Make it seem like an old engineer or something.
Because while getting his revenge against Renault, he probably simultaneously sabotage his own hopes of ever getting back into F1 or any high profile racing series.

Will Alonso now be disqualified and Rosberg awarded the the win...
They'll probably DQ the entire team in the books for that race and give them some sanctions this season.

It doesn't look good for anyone. Piquet did the right thing only when he had nothing to lose. Flabio has been exposed for the slime he is. He is the poster boy for excess.
If there was a way to fine and/or punish both Piquet and the flabster, they should do it to the extreme. Lifetime ban at minimum. Now this is the problem when you have a compromized chief of an organization and moe.

Flavio looked "dodgy" all the way. But Symond's involvement is the disappointment for me.
Also Flavio's allegations about young Piquet's "gentleman friend" are an irony because I remember when Piquet senior was gossiping about Senna's sexual inclinations in the past.

Somehow scandals have a way of following around Alonso.
Teams he drives for have ways to show the dirty laundry to the public eyes.
Alonso has to have a part in that crashing incident, the question is, is he the mastermind or is Briatore? Now it makes one want to go back and take another look at Alonso's 2 championships, was there foul play involved too?
I suspect he tried the same thing in McLaren, but either Ron Dennis refused to comply or Hamilton refused to help a slower driver. But in Renault things are ran differently, Alonso have the preferred status and Piquet was just the 'female dog' to him.

In one of the Mosley´s declarations he says that it is impossible to change the season pased. If it would have been in this year it would have been changed... I have to look for the article, I think it was on f1-live.com...

Yeah, and some (more or less) similar incidents have surrounded McLaren before Alonso went there. Spa 1998 for instance, or Williams and McLaren supposedly reaching an agreement to fix the result of the Jerez 1997 GP after the Schumacher incident . Not to talk about 1990....
And there have also been drivers like Montoya forcing his exit of the team, due to Ron Dennis' management style....

It's amazing to me that Renault got off this lightly. It seems that the WMSC didn't want to loose another manufacturer. My only issue is the instability in their decision making. Look at what McLaren was hit with when it was found that a few people had Ferrari technical information. I think that both teams should have been punished but that the disparity between the punishments is troubling. I guess we should all be used to this by now.
Now I have Renault right where I want them!
