Dedi, totally awsome specs. Talked with my F dealer today-all solved out. My 458 will be in my garage in May 2010.

That is approx. one second slower than the current Scuderia... Should make those who consider exchanging their Scuderia for a 458 think twice Smiley

I thought you stated on the R8 V10 post that you wont be getting the 458 due to non-availability of service personnel in your country Smiley

Original claim for Scuderia was 1´25" as well. This time appeared in the reviews. However in some Fiorano lists there really is 1´23,9". Smiley

More pics of the 458 in Frankfurt.

Best pics on the web IMO.

Indeed. Just-I got insurance that things will be sorted out till mid 2010. BTW, R8 Spyder sales will start in Q1 2010. If local price wont be sky high I will get it.

Re: Rennteam's tribute to the Ferrari 458...lots of photos, videos, etc.

BTW, some new info about weight of 458.

1380kg is DRY weight with Sport seats and forged wheels.

1485kg is EU weight with Sport seats and forged wheels. With standard seats and wheels weight is around 1500kg.  So, 458 is not that light after all.

Other interesting thing is size of front and rear track... Front is 1672mm and rear is 1606mm. That is very strange choice IMHO since difference between front and rear track on all other mid engine cars currently on the market is much smaller(around 40mm max.).

Front boot size is according to press material 230L but, to my eyes it actually do not look that big...

Weight distribution is 42% front and 58% rear.

CCM brake size is 398mm x 36mm(6piston calipers) fronts and 360mm x 32mm(4 piston calipers) rear. ABS is by Bosch and brakes are usinf Pre-Fill system for the first time.

Suspension is actually SCM2. Second generation of Magnetoreologico Control.

DCT is from Getrag and 458 is reaching its top speed in seventh gear which is a power gear unlike PDK.

Re: Rennteam's tribute to the Ferrari 458...lots of photos, videos, etc.

Dry weight is the weight that most manufacturers publish so it is light. Track size has also to do with wheel spacers.

Actually only Italian manufactures are publishing that "dry weight" data. With Standard seats, standard wheels and optional Navi modul(a must IMHO) 458 EU weight is over 1500kg.

For example 997.2 Turbo PDK Coupe with standard brakes, standard seats and good standard equipment weights 1595kg(EU). Choose PCCBs and Bucket seats you will be able to shave 20kg. Car with AWD and made from steel is not much heavier then 458...

OH, that 1.25 on Fiorano is with standard Michelin tires. When new Pirelli P Zero in 458 size become available you can expect better time. ...and even better when Corsa Evoluzione become available in 458 size.

...purely for comparative purposes, the 2010 GT3 RS is specified at 1270kg dry weight, which is around 100kg heavier than a GT3 Cup car. According to Andreas Preuninger, depending on the options specified, the weight of the GT3 RS can be as low as 1370kg with a full tank.

Nick, they didn't show 458 in Grigio Titanio. I like that color very much. You can choose it on 458 Configurator on Ferrari web page.

Here is picture of California in Grigio Titanio.

Re: Rennteam's tribute to the Ferrari 458...lots of photos, videos, etc.

    It should look like this...

Re: Rennteam's tribute to the Ferrari 458...lots of photos, videos, etc.

Hmnn, it gives it a more aggressive look though I believe the color is a little dark in the above picture. I still believe hot sport cars should look hot.

I have had three yellow Ferrari's and I guess the 458 probably will be my fourth.

Re: Rennteam's tribute to the Ferrari 458...lots of photos, videos, etc.

KresoF1: Even Porsche announces both dry and kerb weights.  1370 dry for a normal (i.e. non-track focused ala Scuderia or GT3 RS) supercar is excellent IMO.

Colors in that configurator are just terrible.

My present plan is to order the coupe and see whether they build the Spider. If they do, I will turn in the coupe and order the Spider.

The spider is coming in summer 2011 Nick, Luca confirmed this in the Q&A session at the World Premiere.

In 997.1 turbo manual, if you spec it with bucket seats and pccb  you actually save almost 40-45 kgs.. So I would expect that to be the case in the 997.2 as well ? (GT2 bucket seats are approx 25-30kgs lighter, I measured them). I am not sure what the weight saving is for the new spyder wheels.
