This is Rennteam, home of Porsche freaks, petrolheads/gearheads, real car enthusiasts, and you guys are complaining about... decals and color scheme ? True, decals are over the top but this is a track car anyway, not a car to make eye contact while cruising down 5th.
Besides, those who don't like them will do something about it. It's not a flawed car just because of some stupid decals. Where are all the talks about performance, weight distribution, gear ratios, tires, aerodynamics, etc. ?

The comments about the 'Ricer spoiler' are pretty ignorant. The spoiler is from the GT3 Cup car (and the RS is the homologation of the RSR race car). The spoiler helps create 5 times the downforce of the Mk2 997 GT3, which itself has 5 times the downforce of the outgoing GT3! This is a track car, not some car to ponce about in down the local McDonalds car park.
To call it a ricer is about as silly a comment as you could write. This is a road legal track car, not a road car that is adorned with frilly bits to make the owner feel better about themselves. Each and every aspect of it serves a purpose (well all except the decals, which imho Porsche got wrong - however, as they will be a no cost delete, where is the issue?!?).

All I can say is that I was told today by a respected dealer (not a franchise) that the RS WILL NOT be offered in additional colours or paint to sample. This comes direct from Porsche GB Reading and the product manager.
I would love to know where you heard this as I'll point my dealer in the direction as I am disappointed in the colours on offer.

Unfortunately, it can be relatively common for certain individuals from "respected" OPCs to be less informed about a specific Porsche model than someone that has actually owned the car and often only able to provide detailed specifications by reciting the press release.
For example, you may have heard that at the launch of the original 997 Carrera S, it was suggested by many OPCs that there were no plans for a 4-wheel drive variant, given the remarkable abilities of the new model and the impressive PASM technology... 
In general, new car sales personnel do not have too much interest discussing models or options that are not currently available to order, e.g. have you tried asking for details of the planned Turbo S or the Cayman Club Sport or the GT2 RS? 
You may also recall that the original 997 GT3 RS was apparently not available to order in white... right up until it was available to order in white! 
With regard to the new GT3 RS, the current marching orders from Porsche GB to the OPC sales teams are to focus on converting customer deposits and letters of intent into confirmed production slots, delivery dates and final billing.
The key part of the message is that the 997 GT3 RS Gen2 will be available in additional colours AFTER the initial three-month production run. The RS can also be ordered without decals, or they can be easily removed with a hair-dryer and a simple detergent.
If you want to point your dealer in the right direction, you might like to suggest that they discuss details of your planned order with Porsche in Germany -- understandably they seem to have a little more information about future model plans...

Very interersting points made.
Were we dealing with a run of the mill dealer, I would agree with the lack of knowledge angle; however, this dealership should, and does, have a good track record of getting the facts correct.
I used the example of the white 997 RS to them and their reasoning was that this colour was added due to high demand from customers, and was based on the heritage of white and the original '73 RS. As white is already on the cards for the 997.2, there is no further discussion on this point.
As it stands, I have been told that there are 4 colours and those will remain constant with PTS (paint to sample) not being an option on offer.
If you can assit with a route to better information, I would welcome it as my order hangs in the balance.
