    Low milage GT2

I have been offered a low milage 2009 Gt2 with 800 kms....  no accidents in its record.. asking price is 138,000 USD which i consider a bargain... but i am not sure if i should let go of my 2007 997 ruf turbo , especially when the 998 is going to be here within 2-3 years...

the 09 Gt2 might become a collectors car , especially in Porsches turbulant times..

    i need your advice..

    what would you do? Smiley

    Re: Low milage GT2

I would ask why it is being sold. Has it been mistreated?

    Re: Low milage GT2

Yes i will try to find this out and will do a full scan on the car , but from what i see there have been about 6 or 7 08-09 GT2s sold within this price range , mostly because there previous owners just wanted the ultimate 911 and could not handle it because they were Mercedes and Bentley Fans...

For example i have heard many people around here who know nothing about Porsche , say that the clutch is heavy , the ride is to harsh... etc..

If the car is flawless I would recommend buying it: the GT2 is probably one of the very best if not the best production car out there. For such low price it seems to be an incredible deal Smiley

    Re: Low milage GT2

as MKSGR said....if it's flawless don't blink...go for it....it's really as good as a 911 can get. and it'll be a few years until the successor is introduced.

    Re: Low milage GT2

That appears to be a very good price, I have heard of some GT2s being sold for roughly the same number in Euros lately but this does sound like a bargain.

    Re: Low milage GT2

A GT2 for usd 138000 Smiley Jesus what a price, this is like 97500 euros. A 2007 997 4S is what you can get round here for this price, go for it.

    Re: Low milage GT2

Guys , luckily enough we dont pay taxes here thanks god  , there have been 6 or 7 low milage Gt2s that have been sold very close to this  price range.... if i closed the deal i will let you know and post some pictures

Second step is to sell my Ruf Turbo in Europe

will keep you updated , fingers crossed from now ...

    Re: Low milage GT2

    lucky you!!

near where i live there is a white GT2 with 4000kms on sale at 160.000 euros, and are months that is on sale

sure is better that new at 200.000,but is again too much for me.in the next 2/3 years it will reach  90/100.000 euros..if not less.

Gt2 market here is really strange,996GT2 loose a lot and are really difficult to sell, seems same for 997

i don't know why,due this car in my mind is the top 911 you can have in the garage..

    997 TT, what a car/che'mmmmmaghena!!!

    Re: Low milage GT2

Darius,  When the GT2 was first launched in the Middle East Some people got hold of them and sold them for $30,000-40,000 above the dealers price , then prices crashed down..

i think the main reason for this is that the Gt2 is not for anyone , and only true hardcore Porsche fans can appreciate its engineering , and   most people around here who buy the Gt2 are just blind top model range buyers who think that the Gt2 is in the same catagory as other Gt luxury brands

also Gt3s are very hard to sell here , and only appeal to a few car collecters... and i think its for the same reason....

    Re: Low milage GT2

Right, also with 996 series i think GT2 price drop was fault also due to the lack of PSM...but now PSM is there and nothing changed...

but to tell all,one thing that make me think about a lot before to take in serious consideration to buy one is that i have fear to be slower than in my Turbo.Try to understand, sure the car is faster, more involving etc,but my fear is that the fear to go at wall let take my foot out from the throttle before than what i do currently with my Turbo.. maybe change nothing, but thinking to have all that power on the rear wheels make me worried..

well..hope in the future to be strong and buy what now is a dream for me

    Re: Low milage GT2

anyone knows how many GT2 were produced ? i am sure it will be a sought after model in the future.

most people spending GT2 money on a car will go for ferrari or lambo.

only us die hard 911 fans stick to the real deal.

    Re: Low milage GT2

    Update..

The car has no accident history, doing  a full chasis , dme , bumper to bumper checkup , hopefully evreything goes well..

the warranty of the car will expire in 2010 , the dealer is giving me 2 years extended warranty...

apparently the previous owner orderd the car , drove it for a few miles and traded it in for a fully loaded tiptronic turbo

    will keep you updated

    Re: Low milage GT2

previous owner should stop your worries right there, i dont think he would have tracked it or even fully accelerated as it was too much for him.

For that price, OMG what a steal, please get it!! It will be a collector and it is a true masterpiece.

    Re: Low milage GT2

Just came back from an 800 kilometer drive from Dubai ,,,,the car is amazing much better than the turbo in evrey aspect.

the only thing that bothered me is that sometimes the flywheel makes a slight rattle when i press the throtlle at idle to 2000-2100 rpm then it dissappears, if i pressed the clutch and throttle the sound dissapears , so i guessed it's caused by the flywheel?

    otherwise the car is perfect

Pictures will be posted soon ,  just have to find some free time off the steering wheel

    Re: Low milage GT2

    happy for you!

tomorrow stop driving and make pics!
