CloseI'm sure I saw a pic on Rennteam of a Fezza with black wheels and a red rim. The car could have been black or Red in colour and could have even been a 360 but I cannot find it for the life of me.
Can anyone help?

I really didn't want to sound know-it-all or picky.
I once wrote in an american forum (lotustalk.com) a question about rims, and mistakenly used the word "wheel" for tyre...and I got taught by the community that wheel = rim....
After having read your post I thought that I still hadn't understood the difference, hence my question

Funny, I had the same discussion with someone (who happens to be on this forum too) today. To me a wheel has got a rubber bit (the tire) and a metal bit (the rim?). Or what is the correct word for the metal bit?

Funny, I had the same discussion with someone (who happens to be on this forum too) today. To me a wheel has got a rubber bit (the tire) and a metal bit (the rim?). Or what is the correct word for the metal bit?
Both English and German are inconsistent in their use of the words "wheel / rim" and "Rad / Felge" respectively.
In everyday speech in English you'll hear the world "wheel" used for a complete rim and tire, as in "spare wheel", or just for the metal wheel-rim.
Similarly, in German you'll hear the expressions "Komplettrad" or "Reserverad". On the other hand "Rad" is also used to refer to just the metal rim, or " Felge". Funnily enough, even rim manufacturers use the term "Rad" for their products. 
The misunderstanding arises here because ResB was using the word "rim" in a different sense to refer to the outer edge of the wheel-rim, if you like, the rim of the rim. 
"Rim" can also mean "edge", like the "Rand" in "Tellerrand".

AFAIK wheel or rim is used to refer to the metal. and tire is the rubber.
well these are some of the pics of 430 and 360 with black wheels i have on my pc, maybe they can help.
A bit off topic but since we're talking about black wheels, i saw a dark gray M3 E92 today with the factory wheels painted black and it looked AMAZING.

The red 360 CS with the red "rims" looks great. It's has one of the best lines on an Ferrari I think. In fact I'd go as far as saying I wouldn't mind one.

No prob, i have a HUGE pic collection so i better find a way to justify it and give it some use. 
BTW i think i may have the answer to the discussion about the parts of the wheels. the Tire is the rubber part, the Rim or wheel is the metal part that holds the tire, but that border you were talking about that was red in the pictures is the LIP of the rim. i may be wrong but AFAIK thats the way it is.
