Back in 1997 when the 9M6 water cooled engines were released on 996 series, Porsche didn´t choose them to equipped their Turbo version, instead the GT1 block was the right option. Over the years the 9M6 engine prove to be very week to receive any kind of forced induction.

Now they opt for DFI which seems to prove the reliabilty these new engines can provide. Has a new 997.2 owner, I´m glad to see this new technology oo the most demanding Porsche version.

According to press release the only difference on the PDK gearbox is that it has bigger clutches and new gear ratios, also a sign that PDK will handle bigger torque figures, which I think is also a good news Smiley
