Ferrari timed the release of this car perfectly to offset the effects of the poor economy. They will sell lots of these (as long as the price is not much more than F430). Congrats on your order!

However, from the little spyshots we have, it seems that the additional inlet/outlet is on the outside of the headlight unit, not on the inside.

Slots on the outside of the headlights look to be the radiator exits - you can see the temperature indicating labels on the light blue test car. My guess at the front and back:

As you know (from your wonderful stable of vehicles 
), LOI's don't count for a whole lot anymore - its more your buying history and relationship with the dealer. They will be taking £20K non-refundable deposits soon after the Frankfurt show. My understanding is the base price before goodies will be around £180K. We look forward to the report from your visit to Maranello ( I have a friend on that trip as well).

I agree, LOI are not going to be much use for such a highly anticipated car. I was up in Scotland over the weekend and dropped by the Ferrari dealer in Edinburgh. I had a long chat with a very nice sales guy there. He has a long list of customers awaiting 458 production slots and also told me he has forward sold his California allocation until May 2011 
So much for the doubt about that car being a success.
The launch trip should be interesting. The event is at Fiorano circuit this time round I'm told so I'm expecting to see the car put through it's paces on the track I shall gladly report back on the proceedings and will try to remember to take my camera 
Hmm. There are some interesting lines in it. On the overall shape, it looks like the rear is a bit too big for the front, but that may be due to the weird perspective of these kinds of picture. All in all, it looks like a hotty!

One thing remarkable and refreshing is that apart from the 3 rear exhausts which is a reference to the F40 the design is totally new and does not refer to one from the past, either through a retro-design or a modern interpretation of it. Mercedes SLS designers take note!
Having had a bad experience with Ferrari some 20 years ago, I've been somewhat cautious ever since. But with this one....I'm tempted...really tempted..!

John, Ferrari's of 10 years ago are substantially different then the Ferrari of today with respect to reliability and maintenance. With each new generation, the more daily driver they are. That said, they are not cheap to own one. They are very pricey.
This is the only really good ' non supercar' looking Ferrari to me since a very long time. The scud is nice, and some of I liked the Daytona, but otherwise.... not many ( exept supercars like F40 and Enzo)
But I am , for the first time, tempted by a Ferrari. I' m still not sure I could take the plunge, as I like to drive my cars everyday, or nearly so...
but it tempting...really tempting...... and I am convinced the driving experience will be as good .
I hadn't seen these pictures until today. This Ferrari seems very special to me, no hesitation, no second guessing. Undoubtedly this will be a big winner for Ferrari, and possibly become one for the books. Congratulations to those of you in line for the thrill. A Ferrari dealer is opening in West Palm Beach so I won't have to drive very far for a fantasy fix!!

The thing about all this photoshops is that the car looks good in all of them ! its like a total hit no matter in what color, or trim, or wheel combo. even a psop of the spyder looks amazing. we have to give it to ferrari they have completely outdone themselves and are realy conquering a new market of buyers. not only that but they have brought back the interest of true ferrari fans that were let down the the previous V8 models.
90% of those things done to the car can be done in real world for not much money!
The car will be a real chameleon... if you get bored with the color and simple look you opted for in the beginning you can do some of these suggestions and have a completely different look in a second!
