I got an A6 dog guard thrown in for free with the deal. I need to fit it tonight.

I do think I need to find something to stop my dog sliding about so much though when I accelerate/brake/turn. That could be the solution!!

I am a freelance IT Systems Architect. I design, implement and support a lot of the worlds Telco internet billing platforms. ie. if you see/pay your phone bill online then chances are I put the system in Smiley

Most of the retriever owners round my way have Vovlo estates. On the subject of dogs, fast estates and now Volvos, I am reminded of the 850 estate Volvo enterered in the British Touring Car Championship many moons ago. One of the drivers had a plastic collie in the boot for the outlap. I've never heard so much laughter at a race track. It was the comedy giant of the field - blisteringly quick in a straight line but pretty hopeless in the corners.

Took the family to my parent's for the weekend. Fantastic on the motorway, fantastic on the back roads! The single downside was the 24mpg I only achieved on the motorway - that's worse than my Turbo which does about 28mpg on the motorways.

I aligned all my tyre pressures this morning before the 3 hour drive home. The Audi displays pressures (to .1 psi) and temperatures. All 4 wheels (cold) the same psi to 1 decimal place. Anyway, on the motorway I could see the front right tyre was 10 degC higher than the others. So I am wondering if I have an alignment issue and the car is dragging the front drivers tyre. That would affect mpg.

She is loving it. She said though that she keeps getting caught out at roundabouts - when she joins them she forgets how quick the car accelerates and so she needs to reduce her lead foot a little!

She wont drive it with me in the car though, as it's still primarily my car and so she gets too nervous about me telling her off if she gets too close to a curb or something. The last Audi she scratched all 4 alloys and reversed into a post doing a lot of bumper damage. So she's not the most dilligent of drivers in terms of protecting the car (spends most of her time chatting on a phone as she goes along!) Smiley Smiley Smiley

I am going to check the wheel alignment today. Should be standard proceedure anyway for all new cars becuase I never trust any Dealerships to do a proper check/job of alignments.
