More GT3RS info (and a new limited production super-997 for 2010!)
Guys I've got a few more snippets on the new RS from the salesmanager at my OPC today.
The GT3RS will be announced on 12th Aug. He said that he had been show pictures by PCGB of the new RS in stealth grey with red GT3RS decals around the rear wheel arch, down the sides of the bonnet and with red wheels, mirrors and rear wing. He also said he had seen pics of the car in what he called "aqua blue" with red decals and wheels etc... and also a white car with decals. I quizzed him on aqua blue and said - do you mean rivera blue and he said "oh yes, you're right that is its name". So it seems that the colours are stealth grey, rivera and white all with a new red decal scheme + poss some others?
He also talked about a brand new car that will be released in very limited numbers next year. He said it was a 997 but had a very different look (he said it looked somewhat like a 993) as it had a number of distinctive features such as twin domes on the roof! He said it was in matt primer grey (similar to the RS) and he said it looked totally stunning. Will be strictly in limited numbers - he said only 240 cars worldwide and will retail in the UK for £135,000. Ive forgotten the exact name he said the car would have but it was something like a 997 clubsport coupe - or such like - sorry ive forgotton the exact name! DOH!!!
This car with the twin domed roof sounds very much like the car we have all seen the pics of and suspected might be a 998 mule!?!?!?! Interesting that this tied in with the spyshots we have seen here on the forum and which he will no doubt be oblivious of!
He had seen the pics first hand from the UK product manager and had no reason to make any of that up for me - a mere hopeful gen2 GT3 customer
