There are so many 997 C4S on the 2nd hand market that selling in these times was pretty hard. I did have to drop my price substantially and by the end , the hit I took on the 997 C4S MY05 is 51%.

Not many cars sell for 51% less after 4 years...
The norm here in the US is 50% after three years for most cars.
The residual on my 07 C2S from Porsche Financial is 50% of the sale price after 4 years. Basically any pre-owned car you see on a lot has a 15% markup, so if the dealer is selling a car for $70K, they bought it at 60K. I think BMW is about the same in terms of residual/wholesale value, maybe a couple of percent better. By the same token, if you want to figure out what your car is worth on a trade in, take the average retail price for your car now and subtract 15% and that's about what you'd get from the dealer on trade.
Congrat's on selling it Gnil, that takes care of that, as they say.

Thanks for your words. Yes, I am now pleased the car has gone, and happy I changed, as I like my current C2S much better.
My dealer , at the moment, sells his second hand cars with a very small margin ( just covering costs and minimum gain) , as he just wants them to go.
In the last years there were massive grey imports from the US, which have now affected very negatively the resale values of the ''local'' Porsches. One of the first questiont the buyer ask is generaly: is it a US car or a Swiss car !!!!!!
@Pride : I have finally sold it about 1000 EUR more then what the dealer was giving me last September. Not much of a difference finally, but I really have cut down my price a lot in this last week. I wanted to get rid of it.

I have put my car into the web - not even one call after couple of weeks!
I'm a bit wondering, as my dealer told me that they had the best business in May/June/July this year - they are basically sold out with any kind of 911! And - those cars have been far more expensive as I have put mine to the web.
So, I decided I will stay with the pre-facelift and skip the 997.2. And if I can sell it, I for sure will lease the next car as then I just can put it on the dealers yard after the lease-period - over and out. This is the last car I will trade in myself, it sucks!
The problem is everywhere!
I had two cars for 5 months myself because I failed to sell the old car before I took delivery of the new one. I began getting frustrated as there were no serious inquiries either through the press or the internet or friends and used car dealers.
Finally, somebody offered 90% of what I was expecting and I was quick to accept the cash and sign the transfer.
On the upside, I enjoy my new car so much that money doesn't matter
