Any insight into the future of Porsche (versus VW)?
The latest news seems to be that the companies (Porsche and VW) are merging:

Although Porsche seemed to have gained the 'upper hand' with and investment from Qatar, and Piech, cousin of the Porsche family who sites on its board are trying to consolidate Porsche as one of its own brands.

"From a legal point of view, Porsche Automobil Holding SE and the former Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG are one and the same legal entity." see http://www.porsche-se.com/pho/en/porschese/, that is, you can't acquire one without the other one.
Piëch seems like a madman - suing magazines about his ties and driving habits. Also, he and his son (?) seem to be outnumbered on the Board of Directors at Porsche Holding: http://investing.businessweek.com/research/stocks/people/board.asp?ric=PSHG_P.DE
It appears that Lower Saxony and VW have a problem on its hands with the "new VW law" - being sued by the EU: http://www.reuters.com/article/rbssAutoTruckManufacturers/idUSLD3903420081113

Do any of the European or German folks on this forum have any other news? I know that the Porsche BOD are having a big meeting on July 23rd.
Thanks for any help - Gerry
