I think that 997.2 Turbo will be even with 997.1 Turbo Stage 1.
And 997.2 Turbo will be able to have Stage 2 with torque limitation at 760-770Nm. In such a case the tuners will try to make the torque shelf wider at the level of 760-770 instead of doing one-time torque jump to 800Nm and having 750Nm at all other revvs. I know that it is possible to tune the car to have one-time torque jump or wide solid torque shelf.
Such 997.2 Turbo Stage 2 will be faster than 997.1 Turbo Stage 2, not far from Stage 3 cars.
BMW 3.0 TwinTurbo is built with the same torque shelf principle for example.

RC's car only has a Cargraphic Sports Exhaust (as far as we know on RT), no tuning.
However, this car seems to do 200-300 in about 17s and the 997.1 Tiptronic Turbo is listed at about 28s - so yes, this must be a heavily modified Turbo with about 650 BHP, probably something like an RT12!
Unsure why RC posted this video in this thread though

You guys are forgetting about the speedometer error. The 200-300 km/h time is probably closer to about 21-22 seconds. Add to that the 10-11 seconds it takes to get to 200 km/h and you are in the 31-33-second range of the Stage 2 kits for the 0-300 sprint. I would say either Cargraphic 544 or Ruf 550.
A couple of remarks (please don't ask more):
1. yes, video has been taken with iPhone 3GS, direct upload to YouTube (compression active, this is why the quality isn't very good)
2. yes, it is a Tiptronic...kind of...
3. speedo is gauged/calibrated, PCM was also showing GPS data for speed (non-standard)
4. engine has up to 20% more power than first gen 997 Turbo
5. overboost active over the whole speed/rev range without time limit (non standard)
6. I wish it was my car
7. I took the video riding in the passenger seat, holding the iPhone 3GS in the right position (this is why it doesn't shake too much, electronic suspension/chassis control was faulty and it used the stiffest/sportiest settings)
8. top speed was 321 kph (non standard gearbox and gearing ratio since it was using Tiptronic)
9. inside noise was actually pretty quiet, the music was running, this is why it is so loud
You're welcome...

OK - I am massively confused. This is posted in a facelift Turbo thread, indicating this is a 997.2 Porsche - although it has Tiptronic 5 gears shown on the dashboard, and I was under the impression Tip's were being scrapped for PDK?!
In order for this to have 20% more power than a 1st gen Turbo it must be about 576PS (which is consistent with the 200-300 time). No way would Porsche give the 997.2 Turbo that much power over the pre-facelift. That's nearly 100 bhp more!
So the only conclusion is that RC got a ride in a Porsche test mule for the 997.2 Turbo and Porsche have dialled up the power as high as possible in order to make sure it doesn't blow up. In which case you're a very brave man for getting in the car!

After reding your post I came to a conclusion that it is 997.2 Turbo mule with PDK and about 580 hp. This is the potential max power PDK can handle I predict.
Overboost is capable for 30-40 hp more and it's turned here all the time. 580 hp is the max power with overboost turned on.
200-300 is about 17 secs.
0-200 will take in such a case about 10 secs
then 0-300 is about 27 secs
this level of tuning is equal to Stage 2 modifications.
So we see that 997.2 TT with Stage 2 will be even faster than 997.1 TT with Stage 3 which is about 29-30 secs to 300.
Alex_997TT, the car will be fantastic - I think, that it may be worth changing even in your situation:-)

Just for the sake of interest,
since August Porsche will produce cars of MY2010.
But if 997.2TT is to be presented only in November, what Turbo model will be produced from August till December 2009?
Or no one it will be?
PERFECT QUESTION , exactly what i was thinking!!
the facelift TT will be 2011????????

From August 2009 till June 2010 is MY2010. 997.2 Turbo is MY2010.
MY2011 starts in August 2010. Actually with price list June 2010.

During the Factory-Tour he spotted a Turbo-Body on the production line with "Central locking Wheels"
Well, central locking wheels are an option for current 997 Turbos...
The Turbo on the line also hat FL- Tail lights.... Inside the factory he spotted another FL-Turbo with a covered steering wheel - may be Paddles
But no Pics - just the first hand info from him from yesterday in Stuttgart.
