Your top 3 dream car garage?

I know we have done this before but I thought if we narrowed the choice to just 3 cars in a garage (we can't all 'be like Mike'!) then they would be a more realistic representation of your real world choice given the money. ie. you should only include cars that you would be able to drive on the typical roads that you normally drive on. So a Veyron would be useless for me as there is no way I would be able to take it on UK B-roads as it's too wide and too heavy. UK A-roads are too congested and going too fast on UK motorways will lose you your license and get you locked up!!

So my top 3 would be:

My modified Porsche 997 Turbo - great for tight/bumpy back roads and configurable for track use. Also an amazing GT car.
Lamborghini LP560-4 Spyder - ultimate convertible IMHO and I could take it down tight twisty roads or just put it in the garage and stare at it for hours!
Audi RS6 Avant - 'practical' family car

About £380k total then; actually quite restrained should I win the lottery!

The combo above would cover all the bases for me, all I'd ever want for across 3 cars.

As you said we've discussed this a lot of times, but since your idea is much more realistic ¨ only 3 cars ¨.....I'm in !!!

1. 997.2 GT3

2. Lamborghini LP560-4 Spyder

3. Bmw X6 M

130.000€ + 200.000€ + 90.000€ = 420.000€ in cars

May be I would change the LP560-4 for a DBS, very tough decision!!!!

Great choices. The DBS Volante is tempting indeed but according to the latest reviews it's a bit wobbly, so the LP560-4 Spyder clinches it for me.

You must have some nice wide open roads around where you live, all three of these cars are massive! Smiley

Also, which car would you take to the supermarket? The last time I took my Turbo to the supermarket it cost me £450 in bumper repair damages! Never again...

It looks a bit "old Style" - but on Lake Zurich here you see them frequently (except the new LP 670 of course). If I had a one choice only I would have to admit that yr car comes darn close to the best of all worlds - if it had a sunroof of course...

No actually the 3 car limit really makes you think because I was close on my no.3 and adding more makes it too easy and it should be required that you have to keep these and only these for at least 5 years. (plus the wife can always own the hauler.)

Yup, order food in if that's an option for you Smiley What happens if you want to go Christmas shopping though or need to take the kids to school or away for the weekend with the dog?

3 car garage is a lot more realistic than 4 for most people.

1. LP 560-4 Spyder

2. BMW X6 M (for the winter months)

3. Maserati Gran Turismo S - for carting the family around and running errands and vacations etc. Smiley

That's why it's tricky - you have to cover the kids, the dog and the Mrs...

Convertibles usually cover the Mrs, an X6/RS6 would cover the family and then a hard core car for yourself. It's then a question of what cars can multitask so as to maximize your personal fun.

I could easily change my choices to something like:

1. Ferrari Scuderia - tracks

2. Aston Martin DBS Volante - GT

3. Porsche CTT - family

3 car garage is a lot more realistic than 4 for most people.

The 928 is also a practical car with adequate seating for children and a large easily accessable cargo area under the hatch.

Aiii, I was going to say:

1. CGT - black
2. RS2.7, white/red
3. 993 GT2, white

However, since there should be sompracticality...
1. RS2.7 for the track
2. 997.2 C2 for daily use
3. Any car (Volvo V40/Cayenne Turbo, whatever) for family use

The problem with 3 cars limit here in northeast US is that you MUST have two winter cars, or for you, one for the wife.

i think choosing only 3 really puts things in perspective trying to cover all the bases. I dont have any kinds but I'll take into consideration the need for space. for me it would be.

1. LP560-4, sporty but comfortable, sure to be used very often in city driving, our streets are not that bad in the city.

2. 430 Scuderia, tighter stiffer car for the fun days

3. X6M for practicality and probably daily driver.
