    My Panamera photos

Twice in the last week or so, I had flown into/out of Munich Airport. On my arriving flight as I left the terminal, there was a large display outside, as well as a huge banner of the Panamera. Also there was one Panamera on display.

On my way away from the airport

When I returned 5 days later for my departure flight, there were a number of Panameras in front of the display center. I took a number of pics, and even opened a couple for pics before I was asked "WHAT are you doing?"  The cars were there for the press to check out and test drive.

Here are the rest of the pics...

Overall the Panamera looks great in person. I do still however, hate the tail lights. Big and ugly. Hope you liked the pics!

Thanks for the pics! I really like the car, but it is too big IMO.

Thanks. Great pics . I like the car .... and would not call it pretty, but it has great personality and is different.

The attention given to the details seems to be 1st hand quality .

Great pics, thanks for taking the time to take and post them.  The next best thing to seeing the cars in person...

Somewhat off topic, but are you sure this pic was taken near Munich airport? Smiley

The unmarked Audi cop car is from Frankfurt, which is in a different federal state (Hessen), and would not be used for normal traffic duties in Bavaria. Smiley

    Re: My Panamera photos

Great pics lousy car. look at those panel separation lines on the rear quarters.

    Re: My Panamera photos

Thanks for taking such great photos   but the more I see of this car the more I hate it.

Never mind - as soon as VW and Porsche merge, it will become the VW Panamera..

    Re: My Panamera photos

Love this blue color.  Still getting used to the rear--have to really check it out more in person..

    Re: My Panamera photos

Best photos I've seen so far, thanks

The interior is superb, at least from the pictures, which makes me more confused as to how could they get the rear so wrong, they have everything else right

    Re: My Panamera photos

I don't understand why you all criticise the back. It is different, very Porsche design style. Car is 100% prettier than a Cayenne, I'm sure it will also grow on you. May take some time, but the car will be still stunning in a couple of years. I'm absolutely excited. just my 2c.

    Re: My Panamera photos

I agree I will get used to and like the rear, because I have not only gotten used to the Cayenne, but I honestly, honestly love the looks of my new Cayenne Turbo S.   Like every other Porsche I have owned (around 20 I think), I sneak outside all the time for a look just to cheer me up...

    Re: My Panamera photos

Different is neither bad nor good, thats not the problem, the problem is that they made the uglyest rear in its class, and I mean by faaaaaaar... it looks like an egg-shaped rear stationwagon.

The Cayenne was not the pretiest, its a SUV so you can't expect the same aesthetics as a car, and was not the best looking in its class but not the uglyest looking either, but the main difference is that it had no particular part that was outstandingly ugly like the Panamera, hence the widespread criticism of the Panamera's rear in particular. Not many people say the front is ugly or the interior, on the contrary, but the rear just ruins the whole car, it hurts to look at. Its similar to the problem with the rear of the BMW 6-Series but worse.

It may hurts less in time as become anesthesised somewhat but that still doesn't change the fact. I looking foward to seeing how they deal with this in the facelift of the Panamera. The good thing is that they got everything else more or less right, if they just change that part a bit it will change the overall a lot with respect to this version IMO.

I'm not 100% certain it was by the airport, but I do remember taking this pic between the airport and our hotel in Munich. In Germany I was only in Munich, and Stuttgart, and I know it wasn't taken in Stuttgart.

    Re: My Panamera photos

Thank you for the pictures, they are excellent in quality and detail.  Time will tell how this car fares with the public. The new markets envisioned for Panamera seem less likely to materialize in the current global economy, and it was precisely these non-traditional Porsche markets that the Panamera was to appeal. Clearly if Rennteam is any barometer the Panamera will not be purchased by large numbers of those who have purchased Porsche sports cars. From my POV the car is  very expensive, odd on the exterior, and overly busy in the interior. However, I am not a customer for its competitors either.

    Re: My Panamera photos

Cars were displayed at Munich airport for journalists to test drive them. The test drive took them in the afternoon from Munich to Garmisch-Partenkirchen where they stayed at the gorgeous Hotel Schloss Elmau. They would drive back the next morning.
