    997.2 Carrera Coupe MY10 Cream White

    Ok, this is not my 911. I have imported this car from Germany for my client. We ordered the car in April and the car is delivered from the Factory on15th of June.

    I love the color combination and I would like to share it with you. Here are the specs:

    Beautiful cocoa leather with painted rear console. Very nice Smiley

    The standart steering wheel is thicker than extra thick s.wheel on my ex-911. Smiley

    Another interior shot; a little closer. The new PCM is more quality and looks much better than old PCM. Also I like the standart carrera black insturment panel more than my ex-Carrera S' white dials.

    Final shot from the engine bay. New DFI 3.6 engine has 2 intake openings as X51 performance pack had on 997.1

    This engine looks more purposeful than the old 3.8 unit, IMO. Smiley

    Sorry for the low quality pictures, since they are taken by my iphone.

    I couldn't drive the car since it is a customer car and they were ready to deliver the car with temporary plates.

    However, in general I like the car and made me want another Carrera S, again.

    I was at my dealer yesterday he agreed to buy my 2005 3.6 Carrera - only a few options, 19 inch alloys (which the above car should have too) sunroof etc, 30,000 miles on the clock for GBP 32,911.39 - funny figure hey! 

    I decided to order a 3.8 PDK but he literally begged me not too Smiley From his experience ( this is my 3rd new Porsche from him) the 3.6 car is the DRIVERS car....Also he was adamant I shouldn't get the PDK - changes will happen apparently AND the manual will be the easier resell later on. Incidentally he offered GBP 7,000 discount without me even asking Smiley - I will be ASKING for more when I do order Smiley

    I suppose what your dealer is saying is that the controversial gear levers will go and be replaced by something more inuitive-I still dont think that would deter me from buying the current PDK as the whole car is going to change aparently from a 997 to a 991!

    Are old Tiptronic boxes being penalised in the resale market?

    Are old Tiptronic boxes being penalised in the resale market?

    What will happen is that as from 02/2010 a "sports steering wheel with paddles" will be offered as an option. They will be right paddle +, left - like the conventional VW/Audi system.

    The current style will continue with the sports cars as with the yet-to-be-released panamera and the new 2011 cayenne.

    So there will be something additional but the button PDK interface will not be abolished.

    I am not sure if the new system will be retrofittable or if it will also have a multifunction facility. I doubt the latter though.

    I imported the car from Germany via my firm for my friend.

    But I'll drive the car soon, so I'll tell you how I find the 997.2 Carrera with 345 hp when compared to my ex-997.1 Carrera S.
