    Wow. Did. Just looked it up. Didn't look anywhere near as tidy as the FXX though, it was popping and sputtering the whole way around. I'm having a hard time understanding how a car, designed and built with no rulebook to follow, could be 2 seconds slower than a GT1 Aston, with Schumi at the wheel. Maybe he's lost his touch...Or maybe it was Ralf... 

    Superior aerodynamics on the racing car, perhaps?

    Possibly, but superior to the extreme version of a car, who's styling was widely panned because it was designed by the wind tunnel and CFD?

    Although I'm no expert the wings on the racers must have some usefulness. Ferrari avoid using wings (fixed or retractable) on their non-racing cars even the more extreme ones.

    The Scuderia for example has no wings whereas the racing version, the  F430GT comes with a substantial one.

    The Aston must have been set up specifically for that track. The FXX was not I reckon given its huge power to weight advantage over the Aston. Not to mention that racing tyres can give more than 2 secs. Amazing time by the Ferrari!

    I have just watched the Top Gear Lap with FXX. Actually, I think that black FXX is Michael Schumacher's own car.

    And with 1:10.7 min. he was way faster than Top Gear's Stig who did 1:19,0 min. with regular Enzo.

    I believe part of the 8,3 sec differance is because of Michael Schumacher. Great driving by him

    Well, it was quite obvious at the beginning when 'The Stig' was standing just by the door in his racing suit... with a small belly  It was clearly not the usual guy wearing that suit.

     Must have been down to the setup, because you're right, there is a huge power to weight advantage to the FXX. It is also on slick racing rubber as its a track-only model, so the tires shouldn't have played into it too much. I saw them run at Infineon a few years ago, and believe me they sit on serious rubber.

    JesseBank: I am aware that the FXX is also slick shod but it does not have 100% racing tyres, it's a development tyre that has to be both durable and friendly as the owners are not racing drivers.

     Very true, good point. Didn't mean to suggest that you don't have the right info. Perhaps the time difference was simply down to setup and tires, particularly given that the Caparo also went 1'10", which we know is a blindingly quick little hornet of a car. If prone to burning people. You're right though, I don't think it had anything to do with MS, a clean lap is a clean lap. His great skill was always racecraft, which would be useless here.

    Correct me if I'm wrong but as far as I know, there is Enzo FXX and Enzo FXX Evoluzione. The time difference is approx. 5-6 sec on Fiarona which is a more technical circuit in my opinion and longer. (Lap times are %20 more 1:10 vs 1:23 )

    I both watch Stig lap in Enzo and black Enzo FXX lap. Is it only me, I don't know, but black FXX car laps the circuit with a cleaner and more agressive line, IMO. The driver seemed to me he has more confidance in the car.

It is perfectly normal that the FXX seemed more planted than the Enzo as it has much greater downforce and superior grip from its sticky tyres.

    Basically about 50 more BHP (9500 RPM limit), improved aerodynamics for more downforce, quicker shifting gearbox and even more advanced electronics (9 setting traction and strability control system).

    Sorry to make you misunderstood about what I say.

    I meant FXX is faster than Enzo in Fiorano by 5-6 sec, so FXX Evoluziones is another 2 sec. faster than FXX.

    I think 31st FXX is made for M.Schumacher that is in black color; I remember something like this.

    The FXX I have imported was 29th or 30th made as far as I remember.
