Heard pretty reliable info about gearbox-F1 Superfast, NOT DCT. True or not? We will see...
BUT, if we look how reliable M-DKG(especially), S Tronic and PDK are... Then F1 Superfast sound like truthfull scenario.
Current DCTs are not ready for prime time IMHO. Why? That needs another thread IMO...

Kreso, I got the info that will have DCT 7-speed for sure

Interesting, no Turbo and may not be introduced in September. Though they claim styling tweaks, I am suspicious that the CA GT needs more time to be marketed and the 450 would take the lime light of it. Also, it really pisses me off that the Spider is going to be delayed until 2011 at the earliest to allow more time for the CA GT to sell.
SciFrog:
Does a F450 spider even makes sense?
Would be like a convertible GT3.
I would skip it if I was Ferrari and veer them towards the CA GT.
That would simply veer a lot of buyers to the LP560-4 Spyder . Ferrari knows there is a huge market for their mid engined V8 spyders and will not be so foolish. If any car was akin to a convertible GT3 it would be the Scuderia 16M.
As long as there will be demand for a midengined Spider, Ferrari will build one.
There was a rumour couple of months ago, that the forthcoming Spider could as well be a GTS-style Targa with a new foldable segmented hard top. Anybody remember?

Yes its a no brainer, there will be a spider. Is it spyder or spider? I've seen both spellings but which does Ferrari use?
Spyder is used for Maserati
Spider for Ferrari
Spyder for Porsche too...

I doubt a retractable hard top is in the cards. Weight is an issue and the CA Gt already has one. Are you thinking of a removable hard top like the one on the CGT?

No Nick, I have something in mind like a segmented hardtop, that was approximately as big as the hardtop of the CGT or 355 GTS for example. But the single segments fold above each other behind the passenger compartment.
Hope I could make myself clear.

Now I understand. I was not aware that was in consideration. But it would make sense because weight would not be as much as an issue. However, stylistically I am not sure how that would look with the anticipated configuration of the 450 i.e a more rakish look.

Wow, that puts it back some then.
If it's "revealed" in December it could be late Spring/Early Summer before launch.

Not sure I like the sound of this, could be nothing but.........
"The supercar was scheduled for an unveiling on 9 September, and its engineering was finished some time ago. But sources say the Pininfarina styling had to be adjusted for aerodynamic reasons and that Ferrari boss Luca di Montezemolo ordered tweaks as late as last month."

even a small change could set the car back some time to reach production.

Agreed - having worked in Product Development and Design before, even a small change can push the whole product release schedule back by months because of tooling, materials, and line test lead times.

Dear lord, I'm trying but I still haven't warmed up to this design.
Now that I get a clear view of the profile, the green house is much too large and upright in my opinion.
I see they're doing the "flying C-pillar" thing from the 599 but the styling execution here doesn't look as nice.
I dunno. I think Ferrari may have a styling stinker here. What's going on lately?! Enzo, 612 Scag, California ... all were not loved in the styling department.
