What is about to follow isn't exactly the thread's subject but a mix-n-match feature about a man that should have probably been the personal idol of quite a few motorsport enthousiasts around here. The talk is about Stefan Bellof, the fastest man to lap NoS as the piece suggests in this month's GT Porsche. Among other things, the piece reminds us of his devastating crash around the outside at Eau Rouge that claimed his life almost 24 years ago.
We all miss you braveheart Stefan.....

George, many thanks for this post on S. Bellof!
In my mind, your post is very much on topic. I have already expressed my view of Bellof as a motorsport hero whose place in history is secure - owing, if not to statistics, then to his racing character and inspiring talent.

Our heads are in the same place...couldn't agree more on Bellof! Should his racing star still takes us by surprise it is due to his native driving talent not from his motoring professionalism that many today's pilots certainly rely on to become 'stars'.
