    Ordering Cayman S

I am ordering Cayman S PDK. Full option. Why? My family will become bigger... We will need family car and R8 5.2 FSI seems like a not so good idea since for the same money I will have Cayman S PDK and family car.

More about my Cayman S PDK in September or even sooner if I get decent waiting period.

    Re: Ordering Cayman S

congratulation for the bigger family!  It's a rational choice. The family car will be audi s4 avant?

    Thanks Guys!Smiley

Yes, with bigger family choice must be Cayman S PDK.

Family car Dedi? Q5 3.2  FSI...

    Re: Ordering Cayman S

Congratulations on both fronts.  Any thoughts on spec, apart from PDK?

    Congratulation KresoF1!

19", PCCB,PASM, LSD, SC Plus, Navi, full leather, Adaptive seats, Bixenon(p75) etc. Full options and still on my market cheaper then 997.2 Carrera. I was thinking about it as well just, for me Cayman S is better sportcar overall. Straight line speed is not everything and Cayman S feels just more right for me(the fact that my current R8 4.2 FSI manual is mid engine has something to do with my final decision).

One other supriese for me is that Cayman S PDK is not much slower in 100km/h till 220km/h overall then my R8 4.2 FSI manual.

    Re: Ordering Cayman S

BTW, if I get decent trade-in offer for my R8 4.2 FSI manual I could go for R8 5.2 FSI manual as well. Problem is current low demand on my market for R8(recesion...).

Any way, Cayman S PDK and Q5 are the best choice currently.

    Re: Ordering Cayman S

    Mature decision . Kreso,,,

    Re: Ordering Cayman S

Congrats KresoF1! Smiley And I think you are going to pleasantly surprised with the straight line speed, Road & Track just reviewed a Boxster S PDK and reported launch control doing 0-60 mph in 4.1, not too shabby!   Porsche's reported Boxster and Cayman times are wildly conservative, you are going to have a blast! Smiley

     Congrats Kreso!!! very good choice!!

Wow that's a huge spec.  In the UK you would be really close to a new 997.2.  After many test drives, I plumped for a Cayman S over a (pre-owned) 997S for the very same reasons

awesome specs but a question.... you are not a pccb's fan,why did you choose?

I know you have already did a nice spec of r8v10, any more possibility to achieve it if you get a good trade for your r8 v8?

    Dedi,

PCCBs since they are much bigger then standard Cayman S brakes and they are better in this case.

Regarding R8 V10-good news, trade will be done. So, R8 V10 manual and Cayman S PDK. Q5 as family car. My wife said OK!

    Re: Ordering Cayman S

Kreso, if you want 2 sportscars, why don't you accompany the Cayman S PDK (everyday convenient sports car) with a GT3 (track/special days sports car)? The V10 is a technical marvel but for special use the GT3 is more appropriate. It is cheaper too.

Congratulations, both on your family and automotive additions!

You prefer the Q5 3.2 over the 3.0 TDI?

Honesty R8 V10 is my addiciton. Also, it can be used all year and GT3 despite winter tires is not that all-weather friendly.  Second, I am huge fan of midengine sportscars.

Not me, but my wife. She likes more Q5 3.2 then Q5 3.0 TDI. I asked her why since my idea(resale, fuel consumption etc.) was also 3.0 TDI but, she said 3.2 feels lighter, smoother engine(laufkultur) is another benefit for her. Also discount on 3.2(for ordering new one) is little bit bigger then for 3.0 TDI.

My feeling after test drive is that 3.2 feels somehow sportier and more refined then 3.0 TDI.

Women generally hate diesel clatter, probably because they cannot appreciate some of the advantages of diesel engines in family cars. I've noticed that with several people I know.
