    997S C2 PDK vs R8 V10 vs GT-R vs Jaguar XKR

    Motor Sport magazine features on this moth issue, a comparo test between these four cars.

    Amazing result for the PDK car, but it could have been faster round circuit if the car tested, had LSD.

    Results:

    0-100KPH / 0-200Kph / 0 - 1000K Mts

    997S - 4,2sec / 14,3sec / 22,5sec

    GT-R - 4,3sec / 13,8sec / 22,3sec

    XKR - 5,4sec / 16,0sec / 23,7sec

    R8 V10 - 4,5sec / 13,8sec / 22,5sec

    Lap Times around Magny-Cours circuit:

    997S - 1.24,57

    GT-R - 1.21,75

    XKR - 1.26,38

    R8 V10 - 1.22,86

    (Note: R8 V8 made 1.24,22)

    The accelaration times for the 997S PDK are the same has the older 996TT Smiley.

    Once again, another Mag. amazed by the GT-R performance on track. We got to take our hats to Nissan engineers, they made a very capable sports car for a decent price, it´s a shame it looks so ugly, in and out.

    No man. We have to wait for some dude from Sport Auto to tell us if it's good or not.

    BTW Autocar tested a bunch of "exotics" and the GT-R was 2nd fastest, a few tenths behind the Scuderia.

    GTR may be good round a track but doesn't that void your warranty if its tracked, so what's the point?

    ive read that someone has Used launch control and turned off TC and they transmission has just gone at the cost of 20K as nissan wont pay up!!

    Your car's acceleration is impressive indeed, especially in sport mode. But it is not as fast as a manual 997 S out of hairpin corners - hahaSmiley

    These impressive figures from the Carrera S PDK help explain why that F430 Scuderia didn't humiliate us on the Autobahn north of München. From 170-270 kph it only got 2-3 car lengths on us.

    More proof that the 997 S PDK is a really fast carSmiley

    I wonder if the 997.2 powerkit with it's official 23 hp more makes a significant differenceSmiley

    (The nice round figure of 300 kw (408 hp) seems a bit constructed, my guess is that it has more)

     

    This must be embarrasing for AudiSmiley

    Sorry Tim but, R8 V10 is simply in completely differently league then 997.2 CS PDK. R8 V10 is faster on straight line then 997.2 GT3 or GT3RS.

    Every test done by German magazines proved that. Just wait for forthcoming 997.2 Turbo PDK Supertest. Results are interesting(Ring)...

    We need to have another try before we make a final conclusion  

    But it could be that the gearing is not in favour of PDK in that type of situation or that I was not is the right gear . But on a straight line acceleration from 0 to whatever, it is damm fast Smiley

    In a straight line a manual 997 won't stand a chance. I love the way PDK shifts extremely fast and smooth, but still gives you a little "bump" in the back in sport modeSmiley
