I ordered PSE today as retrofit. They assured me fitting is easy without much dismantling inside the car.
With retro-fitting PSE on my 997.1 the major work (and time) was spent on installing the switch. It will be different with the F/L...
Ironic really....all that time spent on a switch which I immediately by-passed with the hose mod..
Just to clear things up....... there is an extra button ( seperated from the SC button) on this model to activate the PSE ... Is that correct ? ( so I do not have to install the extra button like I did on the PSE .1 in order to control the flaps without turning SC on )

There is an extra button and you can activate or deactivate the PSE in any mode.

Thanx Alex for the new vid. The sound would probably be very similar to 997.1 PSE when run in properly so it can breath freely. But I can't say I prefer the new design. I'm really a fan of chrome tips that are more visible from a distance. The 997.1 tips were much nicer in my book.

+1 - Amen to that...
My dealer just called me with information about the PSE install. They're saying that the new PSE takes 9 hours to install because it involves "work to be done inside the car on the dash"! Does this sound realistic? The price of the PSE equipment itself is $2500 (like in the tequipment brochure).
According to my dealer (Braman West Palm Beach,FL) the retrofit PSE for the 997.2 has a separate switch and is not hooked into the SC button as was 997.1. There are two options: 1) Based on original equipment (according to VIN) a new switch panel is obtained w/ PSE button added; 2) PSE is installed w/o the switch and is "on" continually. The labor for the first option is 9 hrs, and for the second 3 hrs. This was from the parts manager reading from the Porsche service/parts information. Evidently omitting the switch does not affect the Tequipment OEM warranty.

I have been told it will be a day's work, because of the work going into the dash.
I think the work on the dash is relatively simple, because the whole button panel is replaced with a new one that includes the PSE button and it plugs in like before.. The kit is ordered by chassis number so the necessary buttons are included in the new panel (depending on SC or SCPlus).
The carpeting behind the rear seats will have to be lifted to access the ECU so as to connect it to the wiring harness that activates the exhaust flaps.
The rest is mechanical work to remove and replace all three mufflers and of course new software.
Yes, reginos, that's exactly how it was explained to me. That's why the VIN is required for the new panel and why there is more labor and cost involved if the switch is installed. I'm still undecided about whether or not to specify the switch. Labor rate is $100/h USD so that's $900 vs. $300, and I'm inclined to leave the PSE on most of the time. Either way I plan to hear it for myself as soon as the dealer has an example in stock.

I just received my 4S with PSE yesterday and I can tell that the sound is very different to the PSE of the first gen 997.
Sound is less growling, more like a turbine. Very fascinating, I assume DI is the reason for the different sound.
If you are interested I can try to post a sound clip.
The new car is plain awesome, no comparison to my previous C4.

Please do it !!! .
Received a call today from our dealer. PSE will arrive to the dealer FROM the 15th June. Apparently there has only been another customer who has ordered PSE in the entire dealer.
So I would be very happy if someone could post another soundfile or video recording the sound in good quality.

They do like this word 'FROM' don't they.
I've had FROM January, FROM April and now FROM June...
However, this is the first time I've heard a specific date so let's hope....
