It probably would be a cold day in hell before I get caught in an automatic Porsche, but this is a FYI for those Tiptronic owners out there: GIAC has now joined the fray and released ITS own version of the TCU upgrade: http://www.6speedonline.com/forums/997-turbo-gt2/183344-another-giac-breakthrough.html
For those not familiar, GIAC and EVOMS are the 2 big guns of 997 Turbo's tuning in the US. Both do excellent work IMHO. GIAC of course is also the tune in eclou's car that went to 186 mph at the Texas mile. Needless to say, there is "healthy" competition between the 2.
I don't have any direct experience & don't even follow owners' experience (yeah I have that much interest in the automatic box). So if you have questions or would like to argue, er "debate," please ask there, NOT here. Consider this post merely an update on what's new and exciting on the US tuning scene.
This is a report from an EVOMS owner about exactly what it does, from thread in first post:

As the owner of the 997 turbo tiptronic used for the TCU testing, I want to mention some information about my car. It has 40000 km, and has operated with the EVT700+ for the last 10000 km.
There have been numerous tests and countless hours of driving on the highway as well as at the drag strip.
With the tiptronic software the drivability is better than stock and
it performs flawlessly.
The benefits from the TCU remap were:
1) a Higher rev-limiter
2) quicker shift time
3) increased torque limiters
