Congrats on the R8, any thoughts of black wheels?
No such thoughts
I think the car may have the high gloss wheel finish option. Perhaps those with more knowledge of the R8 options can confirm this from this pic? There's no point in me asking my salesman friend - he's clueless on spec's

First, many congrats! R8 4.2 FSI manual is excellent car, welcome to the club!
Second, this is standard R8 19" Double spoke wheel, polished ones are REALLY polished and not my cup of tea...
Enjoy your R8, it is very unique in that Java Green(almost sure with my NSU contact that you own the ONLY one).

These salesmen, you'd think they would be passionate about what they are selling. I don't even an own a R8 nor am I looking at getting one soon and I know every detail and option there is for the car.
Very true - it never ceases to amaze me how salesmen often don't know as much about the product they are selling as one would expect. And their livelihood depends on it

Thanks for the replies Mike and Kreso. I've never really looked at the R8 before and the e brochure I have doesn't have a clear pic of the ploished option. I knew this was the only R8 in the UK in this colour but if it's the only one in existence then that makes it more unique Mind you, I'll probably be paranoid now knowing that fact as I'll begin to think I'll never find a buyer when I come to sell it on

Exactly! You go into a dealer and ask about some basic options or even HP or torque numbers and they just shrug. I find that a lot even in electronics stores when asking about TV's or stereo equipment. Thank God for the Internet!
The only green I've liked previously is British Racing Green, but this shade is simply stunning..
If it's the only one in existence, even in the UK, better be careful with scratches, minor body damage etc. You may find matching it difficult..

It's not a three layer pearlescent John so it should be ok if any paintwork is needed though hopefully it won't. I know a very good bodyshop in Derby which I'd have no hesitation in trusting. I'll be getting the front end covered with 3M protective film to prevent stonechips.
