Sorry guys - I didn't see this thread I posted the news on the Aussie F1 GP thread (which is on the Motor Sports Board ) since we had been discussing this story over there for some time

It´s another complete joke from the FIA.
Nothing at all has happened to justify changing the verdict from a 3-race ban to a suspended sentence. Oh, yes - the ‘open and honest way’ in which team principal Martin Whitmarsh addressed the Council".
This is another way of saying:
"The FIA caught McLaren trying to cheat like hell once again, and we know exactly which punishment would normally be applied in a situation like this.
However, F1 is all about money, so we have to keep them racing.
Since the FIA likes to maintain the illusion of fairness and sportsmanship, we send out this BS story about McLaren being very, very sorry.
It stinks, and we know you know it stinks - but as long as we all know it stinks it´s ok. Thank you."
