Long story short - it all comes down to how much effort you are prepared to make when entering/exiting the car. If it matters enough to you, then it's possible to enter/exit with no resulting wear 'n' tear.
I'm a tall and big guy so if anybody's car should suffer wear 'n' tear, it ought to be mine. However, after 2.5 years and 13000 miles - nothing.
Entering: the technique that works for me is to hold the steering wheel with one hand and the outer side bolster (on the seat back) with the other hand. I then reverse into the seat lowering myself into it. I then use my arms to raise myself up just a little so that I can rotate my body into position without sliding around on the seat nor rubbing the side bolster (of the horizontal part of the seat). Done!
Getting out is just a similar process in reverse.
