    nice

I always liked the M6 and found this pic on my comp today

    Re: nice

I dont Know why, but the 6 series never did it for me. we could discuss about the coupe, but the cab is a mass. I remember, when this car was announced, I was looking forward to it like a kid, and with the first picutres, I faced a huge disapointment.

But there is hope for the next generation, since BMW stoped bangalising their cars, and the actual design line is really great.

    Re: nice

The seats in the back of the 6's are so poor,,shame on BM for such a long car...

    Re: nice

I believe that the type of car you like is partially formed by your environment. In the US (in general) we have big spaces with long distances to drive between destinations. Big long stretches of monotmous yet sometimes beautiful countryside. On such long rides it is much more relaxing to have a big, roomy GT car instead of some little compact racer.

In some congested parts of the US, big metro areas, with lots of traffic and small parking spaces akin to Eurpe, especially London and other big cities, a long GT car could be a detriment.

I think that partly accounts for our different tastes.

(since this is the BMW section) give me the black 6 above with its 500 horses and room to relax and something like the song below on the stereo and lots of open road, set cruise to 100mph .............

that seems to be the trend now, same thing happened with the California and the Panamera.

    Re: nice

The styling might be controversial, but the M6 has a great presence on the road IMO. Just too bad it's not that much different from an M5.

    Re: nice

It doesn't look so bad in these pics because you can't see the back lines with the dark color, low light and big reflections!

    Re: nice

I was agreeing with Pinkchampagne, every time i see one on the road it has a nice commanding presence and almost always in a dark color, The trunk is it's only flaw imo. and not a major one.

Always the same with a car that looks best in black, isn't it? Smiley

Though I think that the 6series is not the worst bangelized design that came from BMW.

What was the worst? The old 7?

    Re: nice

I didn't like the 6 when it first came out either, just like I Ididn't like the Cayenne. However, both cars have grown on me over time to a point where I ended up with both. I find my 6 to be very attractive now. Smiley

I expect the next 6 (2011?) to be a desirable GT car. They will keep the same attractive stance and proportions but (hopefully) tidy up the rear.bmw_6_series_rendering_003_1-0225-950x650.jpg

    Re: nice

6 series is a really nice car in my opinion.  It drives really well as well.  I would not mind a M6 instead of my car...

Mike, great shots BTW.  I have never driven a 6er cab.  Could you give your opinions about it since you have the best variant of them all:)

    Re: nice

Mike, I have the same thoughts. I didnt like the 6 in the beginning. Today I could think to get one. The car has a lot to offer, funt to drive, saftey, comfort and same time sporty, electronics. The whole electronical components are IMO best solved at BMW. You actually get a lot of car compared to an 911.

    Re: nice

I drive a 630i often and it is a very relaxing and civilised cruiser and excellent motorway car. IMO the normal driver wouldn't have any complain at all from this car, even if it is the least powerful in the range.

But if you like driving and especially B roads and twisty hills it is a "boat" compared to the 911.

That pic solves the trunk problem very well by having the lights extend in and reducing the bump. But that ridgeline above the rear wheel well has to go, needs to be smooth. The 6 is the best looking car from bmw and they make a lot of nice cars.

In fact they have the best overall line-up today in terms of looks.

New 6 series will be offered in 3 body styles:

    F12 BMW 6er Coupe
    F13 BMW 6er Cabrio
    F14 BMW 6er Gran Turismo

For F14 6 GT isn't decided yet how it will look, one option is a 4dr coupe - with rear doors like RX-8 - and second option hatchbackish rear ala Rapide, Panamera, A7. So far, the design bosses favour the Shooting-Brake, but it isn't decided yet. 4dr coupe would be very similar to CS concept .

I personally love it. The V10 is the best sounding "mass" produced car to date (that is before the Audi R8 V10 comes out). With the ACS exhaust, it just makes it that extra special. The handling is not bad for such a big car either although you cannot compare it to a Lotus or F430 obviously.
