    Impromptu drive tomorrow [UK audience]

    Myself and another Porsche Club GB member are going for an impromptu spin tomorrow in the Cotswolds.  A tried and tested Cotswold route.

    Any Rennteamers with a supercar are welcome to come along.  Starting point will be Gaydon just off M40 Jn12 tomorrow morning.  No racing, but certainly some great twisty back roads.

    Great drive yesterday! 

    We decided to try to combine the 'official' Cotswold day1 and day2 routes.  Personally though I found the day1 route better in that the day2 route (more south Cotswolds towards Oxford) had more villages packed close together (ie. less open roads), more traffic and much more uneven road surfaces.

    Started the morning meeting up at Gaydon Heritage motor museum where we had a cup of tea.  Myself and Tom got there first:



    First stop was in Chipping Norton to stretch our legs:



    Next stop the Tower near Broadway:





    Next we had lunch in Broadway itself and then afterwards headed south east on the day2 route.

    Finally we finished for a drink in the Trout Inn Wolvercote just outside Oxford:









    Many thanks to Gary and Tom for a MOST enjoyable day!

    You should organize another trip to Ford for the 1st of the season asparagus.

    The Plough at Ford, Ford, near Stow-on-the-Wold, Gloucestershire (01386 584215). Daily lunch and dinner. A Cotswolds pub that hasn't come over all gastro - there's a room where the regulars play cribbage and dominos - but does have simple and exceptionally good food in any of the other small rooms. For the next month, supplies of locally grown asparagus should be constant. This means you'll be able to get a bundle with butter or hollandaise and bread and butter for £9.95, or half a round with cold ham or smoked salmon for £8.95.

    Thanks for all the compliments guys

    I am also happy to report that she now drives even better than she looks (after all my mods)!  911 heaven

    I have actually just written an article about my car for the Porsche Post magazine (free to all Porsche Club GB members) which will hopefully will be included in next month's edition (if not the month after).  It details all my modifications and just how ecstatically happy I am with my car now.  I have the transcript electronically so I might publish some of it here after the magazine comes out for those of you who can't get a copy in your part of the world.

    Alex the wheels suit the Turbo body 100%.

    I wonder if you had them on the car before Porsche announced their own RS Spyder-style  wheels (with single central nut though). If yes, the compliment is double Smiley

    I got the wheels before I got the car!!!!

    When I collected the car from the showroom (after waiting 7 months from the factory) I drove straight down to the nearest HRE dealership and had them fitted.

    The Porsche spyder wheel was announced about a year later. 

    Real credit goes to Cannga who inspired me to get them in the first place.
