    BTW, when I viewed the car the top was not as rakish as this pictures shows. This looks alot better. Hopefully MB change it in response to our criticism.

    Not bad for $175,000 and 565hp. AQlso it had an excellent exhaust sound very much like a Ferrari.

    It looks like a car in the mould of the SLR. It will appeal to the same type of buyer The good thing is that it will cost less than the McLaren.

    Yep. When we viewed the car, that was the price range they were considering. The Convertible will be slightly higher.

     looks nice from the front, not sure on the side, need more pics. a throwback to the 300 on the front grill, nice.

    MB is selling its history....

    I just returned from a classic show / exhibition (Techno Classica in Essen/Germany)...if you see the merces Benz from any decade before the 90s, you know why the marque has still the myth. Sadly thats the past....

    Not to mention the original SL from the 50s. Unbelievable that they use the SL aura for that tuner dream kit....

    Here it is on its side. Very nice looking car! Look at the front end in this view, the flat nose reminds me of the GT-R they way itslopes down abruptly.side.jpg

     Thanks Joe. THe car I viewed had a much more upright top and many of us found it rather ugly. The top in this model looks a 100 times better.

     Stefan, the interior is very tight much like the Carrera GT. My biggest complaint was the elongated hood. Sitting behind the wheel is like sitting in a cockpit but the hood is massive making it, at least for me, difficult to do spirited sport driving.

    Just found those interieur shots on Autobild.de, they state this is the final Interieur of the SLS.

    Ohh just noticed that there is already a link above for Interieur shots... anyway... Smiley

    it seems they share a lot of parts and cheap plastic switches with the cheapest Merc model......the C-Class.

     

    bit of a shame considering this car costs so much more..... should done better

     The weight was one of the strongest criticisms we had with the car. If I recall it was in the area 3800 pounds. We were told engineers were working to lower the weight to around 35-3600 pds.
