Who knows if the 997.2 TT would be really faster and better than 997.1 TT?
I am in dilemma - to wait or not to wait?
Pls advise.
As much as I love my Turbo, my opinion is that the new Turbo will be faster and "better." While the new engine may not be as well regarded, from a driver's standpoint, the new car will have to be better in most important aspects, starting with speed. PAG engineers are no dummies.
The more important question is this: Are you willing to pay $140,000 for a car when pictures of its successor -- 991 or whatever it is -- have already been seen floating around the internet? No matter how beautiful we think the current car is, chances are that the new design will make ours look dated. And it will be a bigger leap forward with respect to performance.
Since I like to keep my car for many years and don't want to have the feeling of buying a has-been, the sweet spot for me is the second year of production for any model. For the Turbo, this means MY 2008, not now. But this is a personal decision, aided by lucky timing; there is no right or wrong.
