Future plans and what I think of the car??
Well, my only upgrade for the CAR will be stage 1 software upgrade which will pump up the hp to 305-310 hp range and the torque will be 395ish-400 NM.
I would like to start with the S-Tronic transmissin which is also called DSG in VW company. IT is a fast, firm action, 6 speed, double clutch gearbox. There are paddles on the steering wheel to use them in MANUAL mode. You can also use the stick to change gears in MANUAL Mode. You can also leave the gearbox in D (full auto mode) OR leave it in S for holding on the gears longer and at full throttle, it does not upshift before red line which starts at 6800 rpm.
Also the launch control is activated in S mode.
The car has Quattro system. It drives front wheels and send the power to rears when it loses grip/traction.
So the car has more "neutral" handling instead of over or understeer.
On wet or at high speed, when it is pushed, it oversteers.
It is a very nimble, fast, easy to drive car. Once you turn in push the throttle, you can fell the quattro system does its work and the car accelarates out of the corner as it is on rails. Actually I prefer and like throttle oversteer, but this is an Audi; so better than front drive. I hate the front drive car behaviour which tends to wash out the front tires and the car goes straight to the outside of the corner instead of TURNING it.
The interior is very nice; actually I like it better than my ex-997 Carrera S which had full leather, A.S.S., painted rear consule, extra thick steering wheel and Sports chrono pack. I love the Racaro buckets, and fat flat bottom MF steering wheel, white instruments, extra leather around, white stiching, interior alum. trim and shape of the gear stick in TTS.
There are 2 small seats at the back like 911; BUT because of the bucket seats and shorter wheel base than 911, it is impossible to seat at the back because there is no space for the legs. However normal sports seats allow more leg room space so young kids or thin girls can sit at the back
Surprising speed and handling of the car gives almost the same if not faster exiting corner speeds than 911 Carrera S I'm very impressed by the pace of the car as well as its everyday driveability. Magnetic ride and S-tronic make the everyday driving very easy.
On upshifts with the S-tronic, if you are on the throttle there comes a "poop poop" sound from the exhaust which is very addictive. Shifts are very FAST and FIRM, needless to say.
And what I don't like:
You cannot turn off the ESP completely. It does not have LSD so even if it is AWD, if you left the front and rear wheels from one side on wet and try to accelarate out of a turn, the car goes nowhere. And finally I always prefer and like rear wheel drive cars.
Other than those, I think it is a GREAT car for its price range; in terms of design, power, speed, handling and quality. with the remap, power to weight ratio will be better than E46 M3 coupe.
It will serve me untill I purchase a sportier version of E92 M3; hopefully an E92 M3 CSL
