Carlos from Spain:how can that be? isn't it an undisputed fact that Best Motoring is always biased against non-Japanese cars, and always makes the Japanese cars appear better than they are?
Either that or Best Motoring is bias against Nissan

marketing manager said in this video by DR "..upgrated ones from fxx..." about the brakes...i've read somewhere $48k option...
At the cost of $48K for the rotors alone. $48K is the Nissan MSRP on JUST the rotors!! Doesn't include the padshttp://www.drivers-republic.com/first_look/news/details.cfm?articleid=f152c6f08af24eacba622c0440087caa

It was obvious that he was going to crash. You can see signs of this in the video. Poor fella, probably thought the car would drive itself.....

WAY:
Agree with Querem. The guy obviously doesn't know the road like the EVO driver and doesn't seem to have a good grasp of driving technique either!
Shouldn't have been doing high speed crap like that at night either. It's a recipe for disaster and he's lucky that nobody got killed.

unbelievable how dumb some people are
Although it seems to be an empty farm road or something, why would you take risks like this at night.

Completely agree, man is the only animal that trips on the same stone twice, or in this case three times
1:12 -> goes into understeer at the corner, first hint he is over his head, but keeps going
1:49 -> again understeer even more than the first time that causes him to fall back but instead of letting off, he even tries to catch up to the EVO
2:01 -> sure enough, he now goes really wide and runs of the road...
Good thing he didn't hit anyone.

Let's hope that this driver is not characteristic for the "standard" GTR buyer. Risk could be that many GTR buyers who do an upgrade from a more usual car are not capable of using this car properly
" Ride along with Tony Quinn and Naomi Tillet in their R35 GT-R through the Mt. Roland stage of the Rally Tasmania tarmac rally, which they won, beating Jim Richards in his 997 GT2 by 15 seconds.

When will SA test the GTR ?
Probably after this.
And So it Begins: Nissan's Chief Test Driver Confirms GT-R 'Ring Attack in April |
Ladies and gentlemen, let the latest battle for the unofficial "King of the 'Ring" title begin. Testing will go down sometime next month after the region's rainy season. Both a standard GT-R and GT-R SpecV will be driven on the 12.9-mile circuit used extensively by automakers during the development of new models. |
Nissan has lost a lot of credibility. The Fact that no one has been able to repeat their claim is what is telling. No one has even come close, actually the opposite is true.
Yet AUM soldiers on...

Have you read the Driver's Republic test where the GT-R was only 7 seconds slower than the GT2?
7 seconds sounds like a lot but when you consider that that particular car was not a press car and that it nearly lost to a Carrera S in a drag race (maybe the ECU wasn't setup properly for 98 octan gas) and that it wasn't on the fastest tires available and that the tires it had were runflats and that it has a real boot and rear seats and heated seats and a proper stereo and that it costs 100'000 euros less than the GT2, it really shows what kind of car Nissan has build. Oh and btw it has less power and is 300kg heavier.
I'm very sure it would be just as fast as the GT2 if it had the right tires and if the engine was runing as it should. It wouldn't be the first time. But of course it's just a guess.
Nissan already anounced when they will be at the Nurburgring. Maybe some people should go there and see for themselves. I think it's April 9th.

With their recent campaign Nissan just tries to find some dumbos who they can still cheat on after the recent independant test results. Obviously, that excludes those car nuts who have a bit of judgement and experience in the sportscar world. It will be just some more weeks until SportAuto will put an end to some dreams of GTR fans...
Like al true sports car enthusiasts, I am always for better and faster cars. And I am fascinated by the performance of the GTR. But after driving it on the track I would never buy one, even if the Nissan claims where verified. It is too big and heavy for my taste.
It would be very interesting to see Sport Auto monitor and verify Suzuki's new time attack in April. Then see how close HvS could get to that time on the same day in the same car. The same with Walter in a 997 Turbo followed by HvS same day same car.
A race driver with unlimited time and full factory support is certain to be faster than a magazine tester who has a few hours in a unfamiliar car.
Any bets on the time differences same day same car?
