Largest private collection in my country (NO 56k!!)

Hi everybody, trusting that you all had a very good new years eve Smiley

In anycase, I thought I'd share some photo's of a private collection that I went to go look at last week. It is open to the public to view and some of the cars in there are well over 100+ years old.

Everything is also still in operational order, quite amazing. They have around 300 vehicles in total, but have just 82 of them on display for the public.

Here they are.

Type 23 Bugatti - can't remember the exact year, but this was in the 1920's.

Some very very old Ford's

The rest of the Bugatti's.

The 100+ year old Fords.

Who can forget VW!

The "old" Audis Smiley (Auto Union)

Some old MG's.

Mercedes-Benz

They also have an extensive collection of motorbikes from the 1920's.

Now for the good stuff!

Some old original racing vehicles.

One of 2 Aston Martin DB2/4 MarkII Spiders in the world

One of 30 remaining DB4's in the world.

Alfa Romeo's

The Alfa Romeo Montreal - designed by the same team that worked on the Lamborghini Muira.

Some Zagato Concepts

The best and "latest".

They also have a F50, but it is at the dealer for some repairs.

One more, photo of the other Alfa's.

Thanks for sharing! The Zagato concepts I still remembered when they came out. I was adoring it and the design was totally new and hot. Now I have to see that they are kind of "oldtimers" - ugghhh the time is running.

Correct. The black one is still brand new for sale at Porsche Centre JHB for R8-9 Mill.

They have only 4 halls open to the public. They have quite a few more to store 300 cars Smiley

It's located in a town 40 min away from Cape Town called Franschoek.

hey Mike, doesnt this collection belong to the same family whose son was recently involved in a horrific accident whereby a Lamborghini diablo was burnt beyond recognition?

No, not the same family at all. Their eldest son was involved in a minor accident with their F50. The car is going to be repaired at Viglietti in Cape Town.

Haha, yes I was a regular tourist in December Smiley You should go, it really is worth while. It's less than an hour away from Cape Town.
