    Citroen GT, real or not?

    In the video game, this car is pretty quick, but will it hit the streets?

    However, to fuel the speculation, some polish guys actualy drove it

    In Gran Turismo it has stepless transmission, and actually is faster than the Ferrari F2007 on some tracks:

    I don't know, maybe it has something to do with the stepless transmission?

    The comparison Citroen GT vs. F2007 however is lame: In the game, the Ferrari hits the rev limiter at around 340 kph, no sane person would drive the daytona oval with that setup.

    It certainly seems as though he's doing something with his thumb. I have to say thats the noisiest transmission I've heard since the McLaren F1 LM. That is, unless that whining sound is a blower...

    And here is how it works (jump to 1:17)

    Actually my car has such a gearbox and it is just great (for every day use, don't know about the track).

    However, you can switch to a tip-tronic mode so it behaves like a 6 speed gearbox.

    Personally I'm not a fan of CVTs.  They just feel weird to drive.

    In the track, not being able to choose a gear and therefore not being able to control the decelleration rate and control the throttle reduces the controllability in the corners.

    @Jean: 100% ack. In my car there is an electronic that tries to predict the transmission I want.

    While that's fine for the street (especially in the city), that's not good for driving fast.

    Maybe the citroen guys solved this problem by adding a way to adjust the transmission manually, maybe that's what the polish guy is doing with his thumb?

    He seemed to be doing it constantly though...   I am really curious can we dig more about this?  The throttle blip noise matches the movement of his thumb.

    The guys at autoexpress have a more in depth review, they state the Transmission as "push-button manual, rear-wheel drive".

    So maybe it's a standard transmission after all, and the polish guy is fooling us by constantly changing the gear up and down?
