Alex! what is an lp 540?
Where did I write that?
If I was spending my own money (ie. cost is a factor) on an unmodified car that I would principally be driving in the UK (cold and wet) then my order would be:
(1) LP560-4 Spyder
(2) DBS
(3) Veyron
I am personally not a fan of stripped out track cars (eg. GT2, GT3RS, Scud). I like my creature comforts AND have the power to pull a small moon. Sadly, anything under 500bhp is not fast enough for me these days, I have been well and truly spoilt!!

1. 997 GT3 RS
2. 430 scud
3. 599 GBT
Convertible category:
1. AMV8 roadster
2. 997TT cab
3. Ferrari California GT
4 seater performance car
1. Ferrari 612
2. Audi RS6
3. Cayenne TT
IMHO the LP560-4 NBR performance has to be better.
The Nissan GT-R main attraction is the price.
Corvette ZR1 still needs to prove its ultimate performance status.
Audi R8 is slower than 997 FL.
DBS performance is not high enough, HP should be 550+.

Pentium:
Ferrari 430 Scuderia because it is THE driver's car not because of the badge.

There is no try. Just do.
I would have said the same, until I tried a Caterham R400. I guess the R500 would be the ultimate and quicker than a Veyron on the track but I haven't driven one so not qualified to say. What I have leaned though is for pure driving thrllls and the true essence of a sports car you need to go back to basics. Ditch the power steering, stability controls, heated seats etc. The Caterham seven is the rawest driving thrill I have ever driven and easily number 1.

So my vote is
1. Caterham R400/R500 superlight
2. F430 Scuderia
3. Porsche 997.2
We should do a "Car of All Time" - that would be interesting.

COST NO OBJECT:
1. Veyron - Raised the bar by a considerable margin.
2. ZR1 - A remarkable achievement by the Americans. Can compete with ANY other car, either on the track or in a straight line.
3. Zonda - A phenominal car. Just read EVO's "Lord of the Rings" article.
Honourable Mention:
a. GT2 - probably as capable as a CGT, for half the price.
b. 599 - may be the best pure GT in the world.
c. LP560-4 - IMO, the most desirable car taking price/feel/sound/looks/performance into consideration.
TAKING PRICE INTO CONSIDERATION:
1. GT-R - Truely redefines the price/performance scale.
2. M3 - best 4 seater, again, given price/performance.
3. 997.2CS - latest technological advancements (direct FI & Double Clutch Trans.) make it faster than R8, more environmently friendly and one heck of a sports car.
Honarable Mention:
a. New Caymen S - the future Porsche is here. Do we really need the 911 much longer?
b. Nissan 370Z
c. Renault Megan R26.R
1) Scud
2) Turbo Cabriolet
3) 599
4) Veyron
5) LP640
7)GT2
8) LP560
9) ZR1
10) GT3RS
Didn't vote for the GTR because it's just not a car that I lust after at all. I know having the Turbo Cab as second might seem giving but honestly wouldn't want to trade it for anything else to use everyday for everything.
08 PORSCHE Turbo Cabriolet, 06 Ferrari F430, 04 Durango HEMI, 04 Harley FLHTCSE, 93 Harley FLSTN
STRADALE:
11) SL65 Black series - 09 I know but couldn't help it.
I saw this in the brit magazine Car at the store the other day and I like it. looks wise and performance wise. In fact the only thing that could top it for best current GT for me would be the aston one77, depending on how that looks for real.

Yes, but would you really pay 320K for one?
But for people who don't worry about costs the merc is tough to beat on the numbers, it is the same price as a Vanquish S but twice the power and probably better reliability, more powerful than a CGT but not the same status, roughly equal to the proposed numbers the one-77 will have and only 1/8th the price.
Equal to or better than any current fcar by the numbers and to me more attractive. Also has the rarity factor going for it.
So in the money no object arena it makes sense. But all these cars are facing the laws of diminshed returns. Hundreds of thousands of dollars for around 1 second improvement 0-60 and 30mph+- on the very top end that no one will ever venture into.

The winner is F430 Scuderia with 42 points
Second is GT2 with 21 points
Third is the Veyron with 11 points
But the GT3 has 9 points and the GT3 RS has 8 points. If these are combined for a total of 17 points third place goes to the GT3/RS.
DBS 9 points
R8 9 points
GTR 6 points
997,2 4 points
