Just outside of Lausanne, on lake Geneva. One part is in the Jura mountains , and the other at the feet of the alps.

BTW :  I thaught I had posted this thread in the 997-Carrera board..but it does not seem to be there..... Can youplease  moove it to the Carrera board, Eunice ?

    Thanks

Please reset your Rennteam picture viewing setting to Size 1200 because 800 looks terrible. My Rennteam - Profile Settings - Settings - Forum Max Image Width - 1200.

How do you like the -20mm + sport suspension setting?

Re: Lots of pics of my 997.2

Nice pic's Gnil! Those cows by the side of the road are one of the things I most remember about driving through Switzerland.

I like it very much, but was used to a firm setting already with my C4S - 20mm.

The new -20mm is slightly more confortable on normal mode. On sports mode it is very hard...actually too hard to drive on normal roads.

The feeling of the suspension is good too with great feedback

Re: Lots of pics of my 997.2

    Cool

I tested a Carrera S with pasm but no -20mm and found the normal suspension mode utterly useless, had it in sport all the time. So it would be nice that with the lower ride the "normal" mode = sport stiffness from original PASM height, and that "sport" mode is stiffer.

Re: Lots of pics of my 997.2

I can confirm that.... PASM Sport is great. The sport mode is incredible on given roads!

Re: Lots of pics of my 997.2

great gnil .....next year we must meet on the Ring !!

I like very much the  alette in silver !! wunderbar

Magnificent car, beautiful scenery. Many congratulations Smiley The leather detailing on the vents make so much difference, saw this option first hand on kinrara's 997 turbo.

These cows on the second pics are just amazed by such a lovely car Smiley It can't be the noise of the exhaust cause they don't run away. So i guess due to the beauty of it, they just stick on the grass and have no other choise then watching and admire this black car parked in front of themSmiley

Nice pics and enjoy the ride with your new carSmiley

Re: Lots of pics of my 997.2

I've got normal suspension on my 997.2 and I'm actually glad I didn't go for the -20.  Definately not suited for London roads.  I i've tried the sports option a couple of times but end up switching it off after 5 mins as it gets uncomfortable.

So I guess it depends on where you live!

Re: Lots of pics of my 997.2

Great pics Gnil...i prefer these images to the official porsche ones!!

Re: Lots of pics of my 997.2

Gnil,I Iike your car a lot.

I noticed the black instruments which is an option on the Carrera S (zero cost option, strange!!) that improves the ambiance inside the car Smiley

The surroundings are even better. If I recognised that area correctly, I had lots of nice wine there produced at the vineyards, when I was on a driving trip around CH some years ago.

    Very good looking car!

The new S-wheels are not entirely my choice, the rest of the car is though! I love the black "Carrera S"-logo!

Very nice pics. How does your new 997.2 compare to your 997.1? Which are the main positive and negative (if any) points?

Main difference that I feel: more powerfull at lower rews. The steering wheel is now heavyer ( in feeling) and the front feels more planted. My 997.2 C2S has a '' heavyer'' front then my 997.1 C4S  But the steering is now even more precise.

The new -20 mm suspension is more comfortable the the old classic -20mm. But with the old one one might feel slightly better what is on the road.

I ' slip' much more witht his C2S then with my old C4S. I pull much better out of  thight bends or roundabouts, on slightly wet surfaces with the C4S then the C2S. The same when accelarating from very low speed.

And the big difference in now PDK. As a daily driver in heavy traffic and highways , I like it very much.  I have not yet had the chance to try it on a track . It will be only next spring.

I do sometimes have unexpected reactions from it. And I do sometimes , when using the stick in manual,  get confused , and I push instead of pulling !!!!Smiley

If this car would be a second car and used only for spirited driving, I would get the manual.

Gnil, do you have the limited slip diferential (option 220) fitted to you car?

Re: Lots of pics of my 997.2

Yes, I do. But with the AWD and the limited slip diferential of my 997.1 C4S I am able to pull out much harder and sooner from tight turns/ roundabouts on wet roads.

I actually had noticed before on tracks too that often I was gaining a few meters on the C2S when comming out of tight turns

    Magnificient!!!!!!!

The new lights, front grill, rear lights, and the engine, touch screen, wheels, and the PDK option make the new 911 outstanding!!!!  Enjoy many miles (kilometers) in this superb sports car.

    Stunning car!

I like your leather touch ups - they are great!

How do you like that PDK after driving it for a while?

    It' s still a love / hate relationship .

Some days I just think it is fabulous and that it opens a whole new world, and others I just think it stinks and that I would do a much better/ more enjoiable  job with a manual Smiley

Re: Lots of pics of my 997.2

Thanks, Gnil, for your candid comments on the PDK.  I have not yet driven the PDK, but did drive a Tiptronic Carrera C4S in Germany/Austria in 2004 and HATED it !  I vowed that I would never own an automatic, no matter how advanced.  It just takes a lot of fun out of the driving experience, at least for me.  If I lived in a city or had a long commute each day, then I could see the PDK.  But I live in rural Oregon, where we have some of the best Porsche roads anywhere in the U.S.   And Porsche makes one of the finest manual transmissions produced anywhere.

Re: Lots of pics of my 997.2

My sentiments exactly!!  My case is exactly that - 3 years ago when I bought my Boxster, I went for the manual option, and LOVED it!!  Unfortunately, my commute in the past 3 years has become clogged with traffic, so this time I am going for the PDK C2S (Mind you I still wouldn't have gone for the Tiptronic - there is a huge difference between the Tiptronic & PDK 'boxes!)
