CF:
Thanks for the info.
No problem at all since I will have one...
BTW, if you did not check out R8 V10 threads in summer here are the pictures of production R8 V10 in Phantom Black with Phantom Black side blades in front of Neckarsulm Audi Forum, taken in late June 2008. There are about 25 R8 V10 already registrated in Germany(with HN plates)...

Only disappointment is the gearbox, would have preferred PDK.
I really like the new PDK gearbox in the new 911.
Manual gearbox is not an option for me.
How much of an improvement is the new R-tronic in the new Gallardo compared to the one in the R8?
You won't regret it .

Updated R Tronic is pretty much better then current one in R8(even current one is not bad either but, it is not SOTA sequential manual a la F1 Superfast in Scuderia). My advice is to try to arrange test drive of current R8(V8) with R Tronic and Gallardo LP560-4 with e-gear to get your own feeling for it. Since manual is not an option for you(which is pity since R8 has the best gated manual on the market and I personaly love to bip the throttle myself on downshift sometimes...) test drive is a must.
Regarding PDK-I drove new 997.2 with PDK twice and although it is impressive DCT it is in its roots closer to fantastic automatic then to manual or sequential manual. If I am not wrong you own(ed?) 997 Turbo TIP? You will find then R Tronic much faster on gearchanges and not smooth at all in auto mode.
I agree with you fully R8 is awsome car to look at. Just in my humble opinion it is even better car to drive-it is the best car that I ever had. And I owned some pretty decent cars...

Kreso, can you get roll cage for this car or is that some sort of race car? Or is this a GT3 version of the R8 V10?
Mike S:
Argh! 997 Turbo money, that means we are going to have to fork out around 260k for an Audi over here after taxes
Mike,
It is 525hp/540Nm 5.2L V10 car. Faster then FL 997.2 Turbo in top speed...
For performance figures, looks and engine sound(it is without any doubt most charismatic engine on the market-sorry Scuderia fans! It is also very smooth for V10 with awsome low rev throttle response and even better one in mid and high revs. Pure nuclear power plant to drive even with manual gearbox. In comparison with current R8(V8) new R8 V10 is really much faster car. Drive dynamics is more or less the same. My feeling is the R8 V10 is marginally slower in tight corners due to bigger weight, just its traction is excellent. On open corners or straight line R8 V10 is simply much faster, specially at over 250km/h. You can follow 997 Turbo without any problem at all until you passed it at over 310km/h...
