The Panamera design is somehow unique - no comparable car designs out there yet.
Personally, I think the side view is the worst, front and front-side views are much more interesting. The rear view is also quite interesting. I look forwad very much to seeing this car i the flesh.

There are some short videos on the www.porsche.de microsite, as of today.
The car looks even better than in the still pictures.
Very different from the traditional three-volume limousine, very unique and very recognisable as Porsche.
I think it's funny that on the microsite one of the little design language pieces complains about how difficult the rear and the side of the car were to deal with. My take-away in terms of theme is that basically they're admitting that they gave the function higher priority... and the shape is what happened after taking function and sticking bits of Porsche "DNA" on it :)
I've said elsewhere but again, for me all angles but the side are decent. Functionally elegant. That side gill is IMHO, the wrong shape, or something... not sure what. Anyway my wife said "looks like a Porsche."

I like it although the rear resembles the Chrysler Crossfire.
What I don't understand is why would someone pay 30-40% more for this over a Cayenne which is more practical in EVERY way.

I looked at some EU prices and the BMW, Mercedes and Audi top saloons cost more than the equivalent SUVs.
I suppose Porsche also follow the same pricing logic.
Gnil:Panamera and my brain are geting along beter and beter by the days . This pic. is now my favorite and I think closest to "in-real" stance and proportion .
I would get this car over a 7 or S series, even over an A8. It looks much more sporty then any other sedan.
And I would never get a Rapid , even if it does look so much better.

That blue colour is bloody gorgeous. Can't wait to see it in the metal. The facelifted 997TT should look awesome in it.
I believe all light clusters will follow Panamera. If you notice the new Boxster and Cayman follow the same design which is extremely beautiful. The next Gen. Cayenne spy shots indicate the same kind of light clusters too.
What I really like about the panamera which will trickle down to Boxster/Cayman, Cayenne and the future 911 are: the side mirrors a la 993 , The front light cluster, the hood. Everything about Panamera is beautiful up to the first half of the car. From the rear door to the back I just can't get used to; not very coherent to me .
Also due to the fact that you can fit only 4 people doesn't make any sense .
