    GT3 RS 1year / 26.000 km

I share some my first year with a GT3RS. It has been a great year. Many track events everywhere, long distance tourings with wife (and no kids on back seat...), as well as suit&tie daily drive, night flights, and happy tail & sound tricks in snow and on streets. Probably 6 sets of tyres. One month without license, just listening engine noise in  the garage. Two very fast laps on a track with hand-tightened rear wheelbolts, almost killing myself but ruining the wheel (but it did not come off !) German autobahn 328 speedo reading. Getting the most out of the car on 18'' BBS, full slicks, aggressive camber and full dowforce rear wing setting.  Some more flexible encounters with police in Eastern European countries :)  Thanks go to Porsche engineers, living and deceased, for this terrific car. And local Porsche club. As for failures, I'd call the wear-out of PCCB by 20,000 km a bad surprise. Otherwise, it (or she?) is as it was created. The issue actually is not the car but the driver, about learning to drive, finding ways, the car makes you a centerpiece and you must focus on yourself when you drive. That's why I started NOT to answer phone when driving the GT3 - you just need to concentrate on what you see ahead, and feel from the car.  In that sense there is exploration for years to come.  Hopefully pictures speak better than words. Enjoy.

2007-2008 must be quite a terrific year for you DrSlid. Enjoy your RS in good health and have even better track time in the future. One little Q: what makes you believe that 18" is the absolute, breath-taking wheel size?

    Excellent, mate...!

Continue to use this beast, for what it was made for!

That sounds like a very authentic description of the "soul" of this beast Smiley Your car is not a garage queen for sure Smiley Thanks for sharing the great pics. Pic number 7 (with the left front wheel in the air) looks like the little caroussel at Nordschleife to me ? I love the pic of the Porsche Club Estonia and the gas station in the snow Smiley

Great pic's. I love the stance of the GT3 RS! Glad you're having fun with it.Smiley

Ei oleks arvanud et keegi Eestis GT3RS-iga ringi sõidab, kuid nüüd sain sellele kinnitust. Lumetormi ka kinni oled jäänud?

Anyway nice car and I hope u enjoy every inch of it. Good luck and don't get stuck in the snow storm we are having in Estonia right now :)

18'' is not the absolute or breathtaking :) but functional: (i) for racetrack there are plenty of 18'' slick tyres available (it's the porsche cup wheel I use) but 19'' is rare and way too expensive. I believe only Ferrari Challenge uses 19'' special tires.Slicks bring extra performance as compared to Pilot Sport Cup.  (ii) in winter, 19 inch tyres have less sidewall and are therefore more rigid, but what you need for traction in snow or uneven surface like ice-mix etc is softer tyre with higher profile.   Actually, there was a snowstorm and I just dug myself out as the warm car engine melted the whole rear axle into the snow. A bit crazy, yes.

    Jah just jäin :)

Yes it is. Who can miss the Ring?

    Re: GT3 RS 1year / 26.000 km

very nice pictures and report! and i agree with you what your saying about the GT3 or the RS. I have been using mine quite similar. unfortunately i only had time to put 11000 km on the car in exactly 1 year now but most of it was done on race tracks, mountainous pass roads, autobahn and country side. I also have the PCCB option and informed myself a lot about it. which break pads are working best for you with your way of using the car? Nice to see that this beautiful car is used for what its best at...

    Hi Rantanplan

I use standard original equipment pads. Satisfied. But then again, no experience with racing or non-OE pads and maybe racing pads would be better.
