Hey guys, I'll post what I did a while back. BTW, I think the car in the beginning of the video posted is a C4s because of the sideskirts.
First I want to say I did this rendering long before the 991 came out, and before we knew the tail lights would be recessed. So it would be perfectly possible to put the reflector on. Now that the tail lights are recessed, I think its even safe to confirm there won't be any reflector on the C4 models. But as it was with the 997, we might see one on the facelift.
I hear you all but it is hard to believe Porsche will give up on that detail.
I believe that a recessed strip that will unite the two stop lights is possible only if they make it sort of a "3D" separate object, integrated in that area. Add some LEDs inside that object and it will look stunning.
There is no try. Just do.

Why would it be hard to believe? The 996.1 didn't have one, the 996.2 did. The 997.1 didn't have one, the 997.2 did. I think it will be the same thing this time too. Plus the recess at the top of the tail lights is too deep, a recessed reflector just wouldn't look right. I could however see, as you said the reflector that dips down.
But also remember all of that stupid badging Porsche put where the reflector could have been. It would be hard to fit on amidst all of the badging.
This interpretation looks nice. If only...
It is hard to believe for me because most of the buyers are suckers for such things and that usually means bigger profit for Porsche...
But whatever... I was doing just an exercise in imagination because I don't care that much for AWD anyway.

Hey Pentium, and you do well (imagination exercise). We all love to do that...

I do not at all want to sound cocky but I knew that the taillights were going to be recessed into the rear bumper all along. Also the drooping foglights on the front end. Remember the spyshot-based renderings I made over a year ago?
Anyway I am curious to see what Porsche is going to do for the Carrera 4S rear end besides just being a tad wider. I know the Turbo is going to be a little different ...

it seems some body put their signature there.. stealing my idea
I think you forgot about the base image you used. It was a rendering before the car was revealed made by Wild-Speed.

I had my name down for the 991 Turbo already, my dealer told me it's going to be 2013. I think he mean model year, so I figured late next year would be the launch time.
The Turbo comes 2013 and no, he didn't mean the model year.
December...Coupe.
Spring 2012....Cab.
Autumn 2012...maybe GT3.
Winter 2012...C4/C4S models
Spring/Summer 2013...Turbo.
This is not an official schedule but something I gathered from various rumors we heard.
Above dates are also earliest dates...if everything goes smoothly and if the global economy doesn't require adjustments.
Oh, there is also a very strong rumor that there will be a 991 GTS sooner or later.

RC, you asked me the other day why I had asked "why would they do a GTS "sooner rather than later?" (page 244) The reason I was asking it, was because you yourself had mentioned it in your post on page 243 (quoted above).
Was the rumour you heard from a reliable source? It would seem strange, as the GTS seems to be the standard designation for the "all-in" end of generation special...?
GUYS, THIS THREAD IS NOW FULL. PLEASE CONTINUE ON THE THREAD BELOW. THANKS.
