Looking at the engine is part of car ownership but 911s were never good at that, anyway.

I agree with reginos  .   View  ' under the skirt '  is always more interesting ... in case of 911

Like the way the driver had to touch the brakes in the tunnel, only to show the light shape. :)

Those aren't the brake lights, they are the running lights. Note that the third brake light is not on.

Re: Porsche 991 GT3 to include GT1 motorsport engine... Thread Closed

Yeah, they have to be running lights, because when he's in the other tunnel, he touches the brakes, and the lights in the above picture are off, and there's just a thin strip at the top.

again, IMHO I really hope it looks more like these (i realize that they're slightly different) but I love Larson's illustrations and the one's from Autobild.

Get over the engine bay thing guys, seriously. A 911 engine bay has never been a place to stare at wistfully, it's always looked like the back of a washing machine.

Only time I ever opened mine in my 964/993/996/997 was to put oil in. It's not a Ferrari, you shouldn't need to look to check it's not on fire! :)

Please direct me to the nearest appliance store that sells washing machines like this (yes, after 73 they became boring, but please....):

Yeah I know, I realised as soon as i typed it but was feeling lazy and couldn't be bothered to adjust it. Smiley  They suddenly appeared as he drove into the tunnel and put 2 and 2 together and got 5 Smiley  Are they DTR lights or ones that come on automatically when the light is low.  I didn't notice them on before he got to the tunnel so perhaps the latter.

Since turbo is now tested on the track, just wanted to find out what happened to the C4 and C4S?  would it be possible if C4 and C4S published at the same time with C2 and C2S in IAA?  with all these mules can anybody tell which one is a 4?  maybe that's what the intake sticker was for... to create visual distractions with C2 and C4??  Out of all these photos, can anybody pick out the photo of the differences between the C2 and C4?

I think I would be very happy with a Singer 911, but unfortunately i took the picture from their website...LoL

I doubt the C4 will debut at the same time, but some f the mules have rocker panel extension, which would denote that they're the C4 models.

rumour has it that the S will have the wider bodies , regardless of AWD or not.

Personally I prefer the Carrera in the narrow version.

Guys if you notice, the video of the blue-green 991 has been set to private. That's because the original uploader re-uploaded the video to Youtube, and this time it doesn't have the stupid music! Here is the new video.

One thing I want to make note of, look how the rear is now sculpted and rounded out. Then look at how gorgeous the road reflects on the new lower rear! It really is glorious.

Re: Porsche 991 GT3 to include GT1 motorsport engine... Thread Closed

This one is obviously the exception to the rule. Sadly one sees very few <'73 911s.

Yes, 1973 Carrera RSR 2.8 (there were racing and road versions that looked like this under the rear decklid from the factory).  Around 900kg, 308hp at 8,000rpm, huge 4-Piston brakes, incredible throttle response and manual steering rack (light but fantastic feel). Built about 40 years ago, but no street-legal Porsche has been as fun since and few can keep up on a track.

Re: Porsche 991 GT3 to include GT1 motorsport engine... Thread Closed

Nice motor pics...but they lack the iconic F1 Filtron individual foam sock like slip over air filters That twin plug rotor cap has to cost a few bucks. Notice that the 2.8  has taller stacks for more torque and the Singer has shorter stacks for more revs.... now have get vario ram with variable length intake runners, but no motor "art." at all. Gotta luv the mechanical throttle linkage, no synthetic drive by wire feel there,Just raw control!

Is it me or do the 991 exhaust pipes look smallish?
