Maybe they'll offer it as a kind of extended Aero-Kit for the 987 FL. The speculation in the article about the 303 hp engine from the RS 60 Spyder makes no sense though, as the pics obviously show a FL car.
If I recall correctly there was a "Speedster"-kit available for the 986 (basically only with the humps, but no special side windows/ differently shaped soft top)

Porsche-Jeck:Correct, but it was effectively a cover that went over the folded down roof - you couldn't then operate the roof again without removing the cover - always looked very much like an after thought in my opinion as didn't integrate very well - and pretty much a useless option in a country such as the UK... unless you were VERY brave.. or pretty quick with the retaining bolts and had somewhere to store it in case of rain....

btw, it looks like a cayman side window indeed. Either porsche is introducing the cayman speedster, or they're doing something with the boxster. Maybe someone with good acces to patent viewing sites can take a look if something interesting pops up?

The Speedster will probably be offered at the end of the 987.2 S production cycle as the RS60 was offered towards the end of the 987 S production. In other words, it will probably be offered just before the introduction of the newly designed 2011 988, sometime in 2010.
I would also guess that Porsche will offer the 987.2 Speedster with the Cayman 320hp engine to distinguish it from the regular 987.2 S 310hp offering, and charge a premium over the Cayman S for the extra body work. It would be a nice package.
