    no infatuation

    i have no infatuation with pagani and i am looking at the big picture.
    ferrari's still ferrari with outsourcing suspension and enzo's not rolling over that?

    as i said before, outsourcing of major components by manufacturer's, including ferrari, will only increase over
    time.

    btw ferrari would be my personal favorite!
    but i can still look at the big picture and appreciate pagani zonda's

    Ferrari outsources many things. They outsource their design to Pininfarina, they outsource their brake to Brembo, and they outsource suspensions and climate control units to Delpi.

    But, one thing they will never do is outsource their engine developement. Never, Never Never! The engine is the heart and soul of the car. They're famous for their high revving V8s and V12s. Just like Porsche is famous for the flat6. You will never see Porsche outsource their flat, even if it benifits the bottom line.

    so as long as ferrari supplies the engine, subaru could provide the rest and assembly and it would still be a ferrari! right!

    porsche has outsourced engines from vw!

    i would think something as important as suspension technology and brakes would also be considered part of the "heart and soul" of the car

    I think you are going a little far. The suspension system is 100% Ferrari. ONLY the technology to make the fluid change density is from Delphi. ALL car companies borrow technology from others....it's to keep things up to date, and so costs don't skyrocket.

    that's the point i was making!
    also the fact that it will only increase.
    what's going too far is to say that a pagani is not a real mfg. because they outsource their engines.

    Well, even I will have to say engine outsourcing is a big thing. The engine is one of the most important aspects of a car as we all know....but, for a small campany like Pagani, if they had to make there own engine, they most likey wouldn't be here.

    why should they make their own engines when they can outsource mercedes amg technology?
    the engine is a big component of the car but why would it be the deciding factor on whether a company is considered a car mfg.?

    O God, this car is just so ugly!!! Especially in the picture from the back is seems that somebody just kicked it in the ass!!! The Ferraris from today are no longer the ones from before. To like one now you have to stay there for ours and watch them and try to find a reason for liking them.

    The more I look at the overhead shot of this wonderfull design, I can't help but think of a certain Lexus coupe....

    Color me jaded, but in my opinion, it is an obvious distinction of the rear-end of the 599 GTB.

    Perhaps I am not seeing this correctly. I see no Porsche, I see no Mercedes and I definately do not see any Bugatti styling cues. it is driving me crazy that I can't get the association with a certain Lexus coupe off my mind..

    Perhaps I am just very tired.
