Underside protection plate!

I had not seen this before. I found it on the Posche UK website (web page). It does not appear on the US site.

I think I want one.

Pretty cheap and highly effective. It doesn't affect ground clearance. Part number is 955 107 981 00, cost is around 220 Euro in Germany incl. 16% tax but without install (which is pretty easy).

Haver just ordered one for my S (which left the factory 2 days ago!!!!) Dealer hadn't got one in the tequipment brochure so spoke to the techs, apparently there has been a memo through advising that these are fitted for anyone who intends to go off-road, as the engine is a bit vulnerable without it!!!! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED (BTW cost me Pounds125+17.5%vat) Dealer will fit it for me when the vehicle is PDI'd.

I just ordered one this morning; $300.08 with PCA member discount. I think I will put it on myself when it gets here and post some photos of the install.

Also, the dealer had a new Tequipment Cayenne catalog that had this part in it, with photo and part number. But, the US website still does not! If you want the latest information you can forget the US website.

I've never worked on one without the off-pavement package, so I only just now realized that that piece is included in the $2800 'running-board' package. Lucky me.

A somewhat random question

RC, I'm curious to know if there's any significance to the 955 or 981 in the part number? Does the Cayenne have a factory code like 986/996?

i think that 955 is the cayenne factory code.....like 996 and 986.
here in italy you can order the protection plate in alu
code :955 044 800 15 cayenne turbo
955 044 800 16 cayenne S

factory order code :2JC price 516 euro (inc. vat.)

That's the front Stainless Steel Skidplate. This one is different. It mounts further back. It's steel, but not stainless, and it's painted black.

Gary,

Where did you order yours? Can you just go to the local dealer and get one or did you have to order through a dealer in the UK? I'd be really interested in one since I don't have the air suspension.

Just go to your US dealer (Boardwalk or Park Place for you). I ordered mine from RB yesterday when I dropped the Cayenne off for the lurching fix. I think any Cayenne going off-road could benefit from one. That's just my opinion right now since I have not yet seen it, but from the description it sounds like you can't go wrong.
