Tire mounting directing

I have a stupid question.

I bought a set of wheels and I am trying to put them on. Please don't laugh usually I don't bother and do this at a garage.

The tires a Pirelli Sottozero 240 (winters).

Now my question is it look like that both wheels from front/back are 'identical', meaning that when they are mounted, one of the wheel would have the "v shape" of the thread going in the other direction.

The only mention on the tire is outside/inside, there is not directional arrow?

Maybe easier to see on the pictures.

Here in opposite direction (as would be mounted on the car)

Here side by side = identical wheels !

I am totally confused. (yes and I should stick to what I know...)

When it is directional there is an arrow.

I have the same tires on my car. I am now in the mountains and will only be able to look at my wheels Sunday evening .

can you wait until there ?

Have they been mounted correctly on the rims , respecting the outside / inside ?

Otheriwse , just respect the inside / outside. If it is written that way , it means it works that way ...

there is no arrow I looked on both sides.

Snowing heavily here too , that a why I have time to surf on Rennteam and not the slopes. Still will go in a few minutes to enjoy a bit of the fresh powder 😎

Just check that the tires have been mounted correctly on the rims. ( inside - outside )

The 240s are not directional, there is no left and right side, just have to make sure the outside is outside that's all.

I don't really know the answer, but I was thinking that when tires are unidirectional then there is no specific inside and outside mounting of the tire. If there were a specific in/out mounting on a unidirectional tire, there would have to be two models of tire. yes

bit of google and reading: I now think this is normal for asymmetric tires that are not directional.

you have directional, assymetric, asymmetric AND directional tires (very specialised tired like Pirelli corsa for instance). Those are just asymmetric. I guess I never noticed before there was a difference in thread print on the snow between left / right...

I read that the Pirelli Corsa was directional front tires and asymmetric rear tires. Now I am curious to know if anyone makes a single tire that is both? I did try to Google up more misinformation, but it isn't really helping much.

EDIT: I think that I finally found what I was looking for

"The P Zero Corsa's asymmetric and directional tread design requires separate "left" and "right" side tires for the vehicle as branded on each tire's sidewall. "

If anyone remembers, the original PZero was asymmetric but not directional, so one side of the cars will have a 'reversed' look.
