HI:
Can anybody elaborate on the 996 Turbo RS-Tuning?
And if it can be fitted on a tiptronic x50?
thanks
I had a 543 HP kit from them and performance was great, quality too. But I didn't like the treatment from Gerhard Schmirler, Reinhold's brother. Reinhold Schmirler is the engine guy, a very nice and pleasant person, highly capable and in my eyes one of the best 993/996TT engine tuners worldwide. Unfortunately his brother is more of a marketing type of guy and after he sells, he doesn't seem to care much. This actually was my personal impression. The quality of their work is very good and I didn't have any problems related to their tuning. I also know that they did several mods on Titptronic cars but if I were you, I wouldn't go with more power than their 569 HP kit. To have a substantial performance gain compared to X50, you need at least to go for the 543 HP kit. Anything below this kit is thrown out money with a X50 car.
Also be sure they don't touch the rev limiter (you can talk to them about every single detail) and I also would recommend changing the tranny/diff./engine oils much more often than recommended by the manufacturer (Porsche).
If you have more questions, ask. And ask now!
