Is anyone here from the U.S.?

It seems like alot of you are from England and Europe, is this as well a popular U.S. post because I just joined and love all the info. and porsche enthusiasm. Excuse me for wasting your time with something so trivial.

    Danny

coming at you from Southern California...

There are lots of people on these boards from the states...

    I'm in Los Angeles.

Re: coming at you from Southern California...

I'm in Europe but Ron Houston is in, er..., humm, damn, I've fogotten again!
    Fanch.

Re: Is anyone here from the U.S.?

    SF bay area here.

This board does seem to have more international participation than most other boards, which I like a lot. Maybe that's because I lived in Amsterdam for 2 years!

Re: Is anyone here from the U.S.?

Thanks for the feedback. I too enjoy the interesting aspects that come from all you outside of the U.S.

He is in Texas, like I am.

Many mistakenly think Texas is it's own seperate country but it is a part of the United States.

Re: Is anyone here from the U.S.?

I'm in "fly-over" country in the good ol' USA -- Cincinnati, OH

Re: Is anyone here from the U.S.?

    From North Carolina here.

Re: Is anyone here from the U.S.?

    yup

Re: Is anyone here from the U.S.?

    I'm in Los Angeles.

Re: Is anyone here from the U.S.?

Yeah, I'm in the US also... Cape Cod, MA and Naples FL

This gives me a chance to air one of my little pet peaves again...it would help GREATLY if you included where you are from in your signature. This is a very diverse Forum..perhaps the most of any, and I think it would help our little community if we all included our state/country/whatever in your signature.

    Thaniks for listening!

Re: Is anyone here from the U.S.?

    Also in USA

Re: Is anyone here from the U.S.?

    Flower Mound, Texas...

I don't post very often because all I have is a Boxster S. I traded my 993 in on it (for my wife). Now I'm eagerly waiting to get 997 for my own entertainment.

Re: Is anyone here from the U.S.?

    Hi all,
I find this forum very informative & appreciate the diversity (shows the global appeal of the mythical 911).

I am in India. I have always wanted (dreamt of) a 911. I am eagerly awaiting the release of the 997. I currently have an X5 which is ideal for the crappy roads in delhi, but I will buy a 911 for my own entertainment.

Off topic question: all my buddies say that a 911 will never survive delhi roads (No 911's here but a bunch of MB SL 500s)...can anybody please enlighten me on the feasibility of driving a 911 on roads that are comparable to NYC? If an SL 500 can ply effortlessly, how much extra careful would I have to be when driving a 911?

Very appreciative of any answers & sorry if I am wasting yoru time on stuff that doesn't interest you in the least.

    Cheers

Re: Is anyone here from the U.S.?

    All you have!!!
The Boxster S is a fantastic car man!
Arguably more fun than the Carrera!
    Fanch.

I've never heard of diamond blue--can you post a pic?

Re: Is anyone here from the U.S.?

    I'll try, new here.

Re: Is anyone here from the U.S.?

There you go! Not so hard for someone from Austin.

    Nice car too.

Re: Is anyone here from the U.S.?

From the good ol' Houston , Welcome aboard

Re: Is anyone here from the U.S.?

Thanks for all the feedback! Seems like a great community. Tour 18 I would have to agree with Fanch, all you have?! I own an '03 Boxster and feel every bit a porsche enthusiast as an owner of a 911 or any other fine product of porsche.

I traded from a 1990 C-4 and have never looked back. Don't get me wrong both are fantastic cars, but I do enjoy the newer boxster and technology. And like many others here I am anxiously awaiting the 997 and with any luck trading up to that soon after its release.

Once again thanks for the feedback everyone, and I am excited to be on a board with so many fans of Porsche and their amazing vehicles(from the 356 to the Cayenne and everything in between)!!!!

Re: Is anyone here from the U.S.?

I meant no offense toward the Boxster S. It is every bit as fun to drive as my Z06. Actually, the Boxster is more entertaining... hehehe...

Re: Is anyone here from the U.S.?

sounds rough choosing between the Boxster S and the Z06 What are you doing up so late anyway?

Re: Is anyone here from the U.S.?

    SF Bay Area here!

Re: Is anyone here from the U.S.?

    Tradervox,
Having driven in Delhi (also ridden scooters), a 911 there is a pretty funny idea. I think you'd be alright, particularly if you got a U.S. spec car because the suspension is a little higher. But where would you get it up to speed?

I guess on the road from Dehra Dun to Mussoorie on a quiet day you might get up to speed. Or maybe out in Rajastan?

Just remember, my friend, "lane driving is sane driving!" And don't forget to use your horn.

    Dain (Austin, Texas)

Re: Is anyone here from the U.S.?

Thanks Dain. Austin seems well represented.

Re: Is anyone here from the U.S.?

Yes, a German in Palm Beach, FL.
Just enjoying the weather and the beaches - and of cource the Porsche C 4 Cab X-51.

Re: Is anyone here from the U.S.?

    Thanks Dain,

Appreciate your advice. Even if I was in the middle of nowhere I would buy a 911. I started dreaming about it when I was a sophomore in Boston many (18) years ago. Can't wait for the 997!

Getting up to speed is no hassle. The roads are empty after midnight & all the cops have bicycles here, so no one really gives a [oops] about them. And no drinking-driving laws. There has to be some upside to living in the 3rd world.
