unfortunately there is no Auxilialry port on the stereo's in porsches now.
the only solution is either a broadcast FM transmitter, or a hardwired solution that connects directly to the attenna inside the radio.
sound quality is still fractional of a direct analog/digital connection.

Also frustrated to see that Porsche has still not come up with an ipod integration, and unlikely that it will be the case in the short term. Looking for a cheap system and must say quite sceptical about fm trasmitter.
Must say that I finally decided to go for latest itrip system, which for a reasonnable price allows me to benefit from ipod storage capacity. Even, while driving in city, almost no interference; found the only frequency available, and on road no problemo. The quality is even puzzling, I was expecting crappy sound, as good as what wou could hear on FM radio. Of course; not IPOD nor CD quality. Probably due to the fact that my car comes with PCM + sound package, with FM excellent fine-tuning and powerful FM receiver.
Have not tried with stock audio, but on that configuration, fm transmitter is delivering what it has been developped for: a good performing FM device

There's an interface made by a compagny called NavTv which connects an Ipod to the PCM using the MOST bus.

I asked them if it would support the base head-unit (cdr-24) but I did not get an answer. I guess it should work as it masquerades as a cd changer.

No connection with Eric but I would recommend him at http://bumperplugs.com/ as he is an aftermarket Porsche parts guy who provides superior customer service and quality products. Appears a group buy is in the works at Rennlist.org for NAV cars and Non-NAV cars will follow as DENSION says they only have something for the PCM/NAV units right now. Send him an email and you will get a reply within 24 hours most likely.
Either way I am waiting for this iPOD stuff for my NON-NAV 987S.

Here is our latest update on the MOST system for the Porsche. We FINALLY received our test kit from the manufacturer this Monday. We installed it and to be honest, were not completely impressed with its performance. The system occasionally freezes and operates much more slowly than we'd hoped. We've written the manufacturer with a list of issues we would like to see addressed before we decide to begin shipping the kit. It's down to the last mile now, so to speak but I would still be hesitant to give a solid shipping date. If the bugs we've found are easily solved it could be as soon as next week. If not, it could be on hold for another month or more. I apologize for the inconvenience of the situation. Please let me know if you would like to keep your order open or not.

Sorry. Here in Porscheland, spending $60K isn't enough to get you a lousy MP3 connection. If you want to see one of those, you can go down the block and gawk inside your 19-year-old neighbor's $12K Toyota Scion. Like many other features on Porsches, you'll get it when the manufacturer is good and ready, and not a minute before! (In fact, we're still waiting for a good audio system, much less an MP3.) Until then, suck it up! (Welcome to our world.
