    YELLOW F599 GTB

    Found this on www.supercars.net

Every time you see the new car in an other colour, it looks better. Maybe it's better Ferrari take another publicer for it's introduction pics who take the right colour for the car.

    Re: YELLOW F599 GTB

it looks so good in those pics...

    Re: YELLOW F599 GTB

Look at the first two pictures: from the back the 599 GTB reminds me a bit of the 456 GT.
Now compare the two pictures in the second row: the blue car has a different rear bumper which we never saw before on the first pictures. Why? Perhaps it's the GTS version?

But as i said it before: Great car!

    uups...

i've forgotten the pictures! Here they are:

Well, I guess the blue car has a pre-production rear bumper. Remember the very first spy pic of the F430? The red car, obviously taken in the factory? This car was a F430, but had a different front bumper with totally different air inlets.

I think you're right, but it's not just the rear bumper that's a pre-production part, the front is also different on the blue car (compared to the official photos of the red car) as I mentioned in a previous post:

    - At the front, the crease running down vertically from the headlights (at the outer edge of the grille) has been smoothed out and it looks like a lower lip (spoiler) was added below the grille. This must be a result of aero testing. My sketch showed the old shape as was seen on some of the prototypes.

    - The headlights (see cut-out in fender below 612 cover) had a very different shape. Very similar to what I had showed on my sketch.

    - At the rear, the "bumper" protrudes less and has a sharper crease, and the license plate recess is now tapered in the opposite direction, to match the trunk lid opening.

As a final observation, the picture of the blue car's hood (carbon?) and fender, from above, really shows off the beautiful shape of the very Rossa-like fender - just gorgeous!

Absolutely. I always loved the back of the 456. I also find it has a hint of the Daytona.

    Re: YELLOW F599 GTB

Could the blue bumper be for American sized license plates and the red for the Euro plates? If so, the Americans will get screwed, but it doesn't match the lines of the trunk opening like the Euro version does.

No, I don't think so, since the "blue version" offers no more space for American license plates than the red one does. In fact the lines of the blue bumper don't fit to the rest of the back (boot lid etc.) at all.

So I guess it's really just a pre production version for testing.

    Re: YELLOW F599 GTB

I think this car is awful, sorry guys...

I agree. Also because the front has bumper has been changed too.

Whereas the front was most likely re-done for aero reasons, I think the back end was just restyled.

    Re: YELLOW F599 GTB

That's the car I saw on monday in Maranello ....
