    Boy, was I surprised to see your old C2. That is my old 944S2 beside it! (which ... BTW ... is For Sale). I had to go out to the driveway and check. Thought for a minute there it had returned to the homeland.

    my CF hood is fitting fine. but i really have to slam my doors to make them lock properly. not as easy as with my former C2 but i suppose it's because they are lighter.

    What is the difference between the GT3RS and GT3? I

    know the RS is not slated for the US because of DOT regulations but I am not sure why.

    Nick, I think Porsche witheld the GT3RS from the US market because they were afraid you'd buy one and they wouldn't want the car to get a bad rap based on reports how you'd drive it.

    In all seriousness I think there are several issues: the crash tests would have to be re-done to certify the carbon fiber bodywork and Porsche hates to do that for low volume cars, I'm not sure the Lexan windows are legal in the US, removal of the side airbags might not be allowed, the rear wing has been mentioned as being too wide. There's also the spectre of litigation in the US. Porsche might not be willing to sell a car clearly configured for track use here lest some bozo buy one, injure themselves demonstrating their driving skill, or lack thereof, and then sue Porsche rather than taking the blame themselves (this is also my theory on why we don't get the Club Sport option on the regular GT3 in the US). Whatever the reasons, I for one am happy that we at least get the "standard" GT3 as I'm not sure Porsche will go that far to appease such a small percentage of the US market in the future.
