My 7GT2 running a real 660PS/830NM did 0-300kph in 25s so this new beast with its PDK system will be sub 23s IMO, this is faster than all the competition I think ?

Personally, I feel 23s would be fast enough - if the track performance is excellent.

The GT2 RS needs to do 0-200 kph in under 9 seconds and 0-300 kph in under 24 seconds. Otherwise, the track performance won't matter.

I still believe that people will guy this car even if it doesn't deliver the straight line performance I am hoping for (secretly I am rooting for 0-200 kph under 8.5 seconds and 0-300 kph under 22 seconds but I have been disappointed by Porsche before, so... Smiley). With some, rumored, active aerodynamics, this could be achievable. Even with 650-670 hp, depending on the weight.

The huge rear wing might be a significant aerodynamic challenge in the higher speed range - but I agree with your "minimum requirements". That seems necessary and possible Smiley

Funny how we are now sort of "expecting" 0-300kph in under 22s, five years ago the only production car which could do this was Veyron, technology sprints forward wink

I know, I know but with challenging emissions regulations and weights (hybrids, ELVs), I think that these times will be over soon. Unless new tech will be available.

First I liked the roll bar: easy to put stuff in the rear.

Not so sure that the angle on the belts is OK when crashing: A lot of pressure on the shoulders and possible back injuries on impact.

Look at the price tag, guys. You have to be crazy to spend that much money on such a car.

Better buy a 488GTB, 675LT, Aventador SV or whatever instead.

One interesting point of detail is whether the 991 GT2 RS will include an extra "boost" to augment the turbo-charged flat-six engine, which would help those acceleration stats and lap times... smiley

Overboost? Yes. How long and when? I don't have a clue (yet). As far as I heard, the GT2 won't use VTG chargers but some sort of new(?) or improved turbo tech. Will be interesting...

Electric motor on the impeller/compressor shaft to "pre-spin" the boost during low-flow periods????

That would seem like a risky model to introduce tech that could be vulnerable to the high temperatures in that high-power application (that could see really high duty cycles on the track).

Maybe an electric super/turbo-charger unit whose output plumbing is merged with and supplements the exhaust-driven turbos?  Keeps the exhaust heat from conducting into the electric stuff?

I still like the idea of electric spool-up assist via common impeller/compressor/electric-motor shaft, but recognize that shaft conduction of exhaust heat is a problem that might take exotic remedies.

I recall to have seen Pictures of electric turbo's - so I don't think it's a issue as Long as you have a big enough Battery capacity storage somewhere in the car. I also recall that they want to get rid of traditional starter , waterpump etc and replace it all by electrification making the engine more compact and powerfull - all naturally evolving things....
